Before you start clipping:
πŸ‘ Clean and oil the blades
πŸ”§ Tighten the tension k**b clockwise until you feel resistance
πŸ”„ Back it off by 1Β½ turns
βœ… Switch the clippers on and make any small adjustments if needed

If the blades rattle or don't cut cleanly, the tension is too loose. If the clippers become hot quickly or the motor sounds like it's working harder than normal, the tension may be too tight.

A few seconds spent checking your blade tension can help achieve a smoother clip, reduce blade wear and keep your clippers running at their best.

Tupping season will be here before you know it so now's the time to get prepared.

The Matingmark Ram Harness helps you clearly identify which ewes have been served, making it easier to monitor breeding and keep track of your flock. Pair it with the No Mate Harness when you want to detect cycling without allowing mating, giving you greater control over your breeding programme.

Are you an early starter or do you wait until later in the season? Let us know below πŸ‘‡
