Keeping my fingers crossed for my grooming client today.
Nori the gigant schnauzer have gained 3 Green stars since I started to groom her and we are hoping for a fourth today at the championship show in Wexford❀

For 5 years I’ve been washing dogs bent over this bath because the hydraulic motor stopped working 🙃
Did I:
❌ Call someone
❌ Fix it immediately
❌ Make life easier for myself

No. I simply adapted and carried on like a true groomer 😂

Turns out
 changing the motor took about 10 minutes.

I think so many of us do this with grooming equipment — we assume it’s complicated, expensive, or needs a specialist, so we just learn to work around it instead.

Meanwhile our backs are filing complaints daily đŸ„Č

If you’ve got a “broken” piece of equipment you’ve been tolerating for way too long
 this is your sign to actually check the fix 👀

Social media is a highlight reel — not reality.

In this industry, everyone wants to show the “perfect” dog. Perfect finish. Perfect coat. Perfect sc******ng. Perfect photo.

But stop for a second and take a closer look.

Some of these images aren’t even real anymore.

AI-generated dogs are everywhere now on groomers' social media walls. The clues are there:
lifeless eyes, noses without shine or texture, hair that melts together instead of separating naturally, no real texture, no depth. Everything looks polished
 but empty. Or the dog's face "pops out" from the image as it's been digitally edited and lost its connection to the rest of the image.

Once you learn how to spot it, it can't be unseen.

When you feel that you can't compete against those perfect dogs -remember:
This is a curated illusion.

The dogs in front of you are real.
That matters more than the dogs on a screen

A good groomer isn’t measured by a flawless Instagram photo.
A good groomer is measured by patience, safety, consistency, kindness, and the ability to keep learning.
