Allcare Veterinary Surgery Welcome to the All Care Veterinary Surgery. We are a fully equipped, small animal practice located on Park Road, Killarney. We work by appointment only.

Caring for Killarney pets since 1983 🐾 At All Care Veterinary, we provide friendly, compassionate care for pets big and small, keeping tails wagging and purrs coming while supporting the people who love them ❤️ The Practice was initially set up by Danny O'Sullivan (Danny the Vet - Radio Kerry) in Killarney in 1997. Since Danny's retirement in 2024, the Practice now has two experienced Vets and three Registered Veterinary Nurses. The Practice has been nominated for The National Stronghold Veterinary Pet Care awards every year since 2002. We endeavour to provide a professional and caring service to all of our clients. Our mission is to treat your pet to the highest standard and care for each one as if they were our own. Our services available include:
Veterinary Consultations - Health checks, vaccinations, or for any pet not feeling their usual, happy self. Nurse Consultations - Post operative checks, weight clinics, nail clips. Surgery - From routine procedures such as neutering - including laparoscopic neutering - to more complicated surgeries such as cruciate ligament repair and soft tissue surgeries. Veterinary Diagnostics - a fully equipped laboratory including digital x-ray, ultrasound, blood analysers, microscope and endoscope. Dental treatment - Routine descales, extractions. Separate dog and cat wards - to help reduce anxiety for all of our inpatients. Appointment times:
Monday to Saturday - 9am - 1pm, 2pm - 5pm. Appointments can be made in person, over the phone or on our website www.allcarevets.ie

Sweet little Baxter came in to see us yesterday and he was the bestest boy throughout his visit! 🐶
His owner noticed he had started limping recently, and after consultation with our Senior Vet Eamon, he was sent home with instruction to follow bed rest and a little pain relief. ❤️‍🩹

✨🐹 Tiny Patient, Big Courage! 🐹✨

Meet little Kapi, who came to see our vet this week for assessment and treatment of a tail injury. Weighing just 60 grams, this tiny gerbil fit perfectly into the palm of our hands! 🥹💛

Despite being so small, Kapi was wonderfully gentle and timid. It's impossible not to fall in love with such a tiny little face! 🐾

We're delighted to report that Kapi's procedure went very well, and he recovered beautifully from his anaesthetic. He was soon back to being bright, comfortable, and ready for lots of well-deserved rest. 🌟

Did you know? Gerbils are highly social animals and usually thrive when kept with other gerbils. They also love to dig and tunnel, so deep bedding and plenty of enrichment are important for keeping them happy and healthy. Their teeth never stop growing, which means they need safe chew toys and materials to help keep them worn down naturally! 🌾🏡

Kapi is now heading home to recover in a freshly prepared "home hospital" area where he can rest, heal, and enjoy some extra TLC from his family. 🥰

We look forward to seeing this brave little chap again in a few days for his check-up and wish him a smooth and speedy recovery!

✨🐶 Puppy Cuddle Alert! 🐶✨

Today we were treated to the most adorable litter of Poodle × Bichon puppies who came in for their microchips, and it's safe to say productivity took a brief backseat while we all melted into a puddle of puppy love! 💕

Eamon was absolutely delighted that he got to snuggle every single one of them, and honestly, none of us stood a chance against those doting little eyes. One look and we were completely lured in for cuddles! 🥹🐾

These brave little fluffballs were stars from start to finish. After a swift application of local anaesthetic cream and a very important distraction involving some delicious puppy mousse, they barely even noticed their microchips being placed. Such courageous, cuddly, and incredibly cute patients! ⭐

We loved seeing the wonderful variety of colours, markings, and personalities within the litter. From confident explorers to champion snugglers, each puppy was completely unique and utterly charming. 🐕✨

It's been especially lovely for us because we've been following their mum, Muffin, throughout her pregnancy journey. She has been the most attentive, nurturing, and devoted mum, and it's been a joy to watch her raise such happy, healthy puppies. 💖

We're already looking forward to seeing this gorgeous gang again in a few weeks for their vaccinations and can't wait to see how much they've grown by then!

Until next time, puppies, thank you for the cuddles, the kisses, and for completely stealing our hearts. 🥰🐾💛
