What a weekend! 🐾🏆
Just back from the Madra Mania Grooming Championship in Waterford, organised by the Irish Professional Dog Grooming Association, and I’m delighted with how it went!
Over the two days I competed in three Champion classes:
✂️ Asian Freestyle – 2nd place
✂️ Poodle Sc******ng – 2nd place
✂️ Handstripping Champion – 2nd place
…plus a bit of fun in the Jackpot class on Sunday 😄
Three seconds out of three in some really strong, competitive classes, so I’m very happy with that! The atmosphere all weekend was brilliant.
A huge thank you to all the judges for their valuable feedback. I’ve taken a lot away from it 🙏 Special thanks to Ilse Sas for lending me her lovely dogs to groom, and to Anthony for lending me Toby, the funniest little dog, who stole everyone’s hearts at the competition! 🐶❤️
Thanks also to the IPDGA for a fantastic event, and congrats to all the winners and fellow competitors!
Back to the salon now, ready to keep raising the bar! 💪

✨🏆 What an incredible day at The South East Groom Off! 🏆✨

Yesterday was a very special day for me, and one I will remember for a long time! ❤️

I entered the competition with my beautiful Standard Poodle, Flo, in the Scissor Champion Class, and also competed with a model dog.

I am absolutely thrilled to say that Flo and I won the Scissor Champion Class! 🏆✂️
My model dog also placed 3rd in its class. 🥉

And then came the biggest surprise of the day… 🥹✨

🏆 BEST IN SHOW! 🏆

I honestly still can’t believe it! To have my grooming recognised at this level means so much to me and makes all the hard work and dedication completely worthwhile. ❤️

A huge thank you to all the wonderful judges — Tanya Salas, Lyndsey Murphy, Stephanie O'Connor Icmg Mcg and Kelly Murphy — for thinking so highly of my grooming and for the brilliant, constructive feedback. Your comments and advice are incredibly valuable and will help me continue to improve and develop my work. ✂️❤️

A very special thank you to Ilse Sas for trusting me with Flo and giving me the opportunity to compete with her. And of course, a massive thank you to my son and daughter, who helped me so much with maintaining Flo’s coat and getting her ready for the competition. I couldn’t have done it without you! ❤️

I CANNOT believe I'm typing this... I've been named a finalist for Groomer of the Year!! 🏆🎉
Up against 5 other absolutely brilliant groomers, all nominated on points earned from competing and placing throughout the year — genuinely so surprised and proud to be in that lineup.
Huge thank you to the judges for the opportunity, and an even bigger thank you to the owners who trust me with their dogs every single time — none of this happens without you! And of course Flo and Toby for being the best (and most patient) competition partners a groomer could ask for 🐩🐾

What a brilliant day yesterday! 🐾
Sunday I was competing in the Champion Handstripping and Champion Poodle Classes, and I'm delighted to say that I won 1st place with Toby in the Handstripping class. I Didn't get placed with Flo the poodle, but honestly I am still very happy with how we did.
On the end of the day they awarded me with RESERVE BEST IN SHOW — total surprise and I left the podium with happy tears .What a brilliant way to cap off the day.
Massive thanks to Ilse Sas for lending me Flo and helping out all day, and to Regina Burkhovetska and Daniel for the extra hands and the gorgeous photos. Thank you for Monika Petras and Hyponic Ireland for their support.
Big thank you to Anthony too, for trusting me with Toby the Jack Russell — that little fella stole everyone's hearts.
Congratulation to Tanya Salas for her Best in Show award and everyone else who got placed they all well deserved it.
And thanks to the organisers, the judges Michael Shiels, Christina O'Brien, and Tom O'Mahony, and everyone who made The Rebel Groom Off happen. It was a great day out and I'm proud to have been part of it. Thank you all .
