Remember these gorgeous Anatolian Shepherd puppies who came to us for their wellness check-ups? Well, look at them now!

At just 5 months old, they're already nearly 30kg each and growing into the most majestic dogs.

We're delighted to see them all happy and thriving, and they're now off to begin their next adventures in their new homes.

It's amazing how quickly they grow from adorable puppies to gentle giants

"No dung, no dose."

It's a phrase many farmers will be familiar with, and according to vet Eamon O'Connell, it's one of the reasons we're seeing fewer wormers being sold this year.

In his latest column, Eamon argues that the controversial new dosing regulations may already be encouraging better decision-making on farms.

Rather than automatically reaching for the wormer, more farmers are taking faecal samples, checking parasite burdens and treating animals only when it's actually needed.

At a time when wormer resistance is becoming a growing concern, Eamon believes that's a positive development for both animal health and farm profitability.

Of course, the dry weather has also played a part, with parasite burdens generally lower than normal in many areas. But Eamon warns that could change quickly when rain returns.

One line that stood out:

"Only using wormers when they are actually needed is a no-brainer."

The column raises an important question for livestock farmers:

Have the new dosing rules changed how you manage parasites on your farm, or do you see them as unnecessary red tape? https://www.independent.ie/farming/why-im-convinced-the-new-dosing-rules-are-already-paying-off/a/159442282.html
