🐾 Meet Kate - One of Our Wonderful Registered Veterinary Nurses

We're delighted to introduce you to Kate, one of our dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurses here at Oran Vets.

Kate is known for her kind, caring and compassionate approach, making both pets and their owners feel at ease from the moment they arrive at the clinic. She has a real passion for educating owners, taking the time to explain treatments, answer questions and help families feel confident in caring for their pets at home.

Kate has a particular interest in surgical nursing and has further developed her expertise by completing a Certificate in Surgical Nursing through the Duggan Vet Premier Skills Institute. She plays an important role in ensuring every patient receives the highest standard of care before, during and after surgery.

She graduated from Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) Midlands, Athlone with a BSc in Veterinary Nursing and an Honours Degree in Applied Bioscience, and continues to build on her knowledge through ongoing professional development.

Alongside caring for our patients, Kate also supervises and mentors our student veterinary nurses, helping to shape the next generation of veterinary professionals.

We're incredibly lucky to have Kate as part of the Oran Vets team, and we're sure many of our clients (both two-legged and four-legged!) will recognise her friendly smile. 💚🐾

No two days are quite the same!

From welcoming our first patients of the day and preparing consultation rooms to caring for animals behind the scenes, answering your questions and, of course, fitting in the occasional patient cuddle there's always plenty happening.

Regular health checks are an important part of keeping your pet happy and healthy. 🐾

Even when everything seems perfectly fine, a routine check-up gives your vet the opportunity to monitor your pet's overall health and spot any changes that might need a closer look.

It’s also the perfect time to chat about anything you’ve noticed at home from changes in appetite or behaviour to weight, mobility, dental health and parasite protection.
