Reconstructive Repair of a Chronic Traumatic Lower Lip Avulsion 🐾

A challenging reconstructive case involving a chronic traumatic avulsion of the lower lip.

Due to the extent and chronicity of the injury, careful surgical planning was required to restore the lip’s anatomy and function while achieving a cosmetically acceptable result. Reconstructive techniques allowed the remaining healthy tissue to be repositioned to create a functional repair and support normal eating and drinking.

Cases such as this highlight the value of advanced soft tissue surgery and meticulous reconstructive planning in complex traumatic injuries.

🎶 Workin’ 9 to 5……. Just another day in theatre🦴🔩

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at one of our orthopaedic specialists performing a Tibial Plateau Levelling Osteotomy (TPLO), a procedure commonly used to treat cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) rupture in dogs.

Rather than replacing the damaged ligament, a TPLO changes the angle of the tibia to stabilise the stifle during weight bearing, helping dogs regain comfort, confidence, and mobility.

Every TPLO is carefully planned and performed with precision, followed by a tailored rehabilitation programme to support the best possible recovery.

Last week we said goodbye to our wonderful receptionist, Laura. 💙
Laura has been the friendly face greeting clients, a calming voice on the phone, and an invaluable part of our team. Her kindness, compassion, and dedication have made a real difference to our patients, their families, and everyone she has worked alongside.

While we’re so sad to see her go, we’re incredibly grateful for everything she’s brought to our hospital over the years. We wish her every success and happiness in her next adventure.

We are delighted to share that Francisco Miras, a member of our oncology team, recently participated as a speaker at ESVONC 2026, presenting on the use of electrochemotherapy in veterinary oncology.

It was a privilege to share clinical experience and discuss the integration of electrochemotherapy within multimodal cancer treatment strategies alongside the excellent Biotex team and Matías Tellado, one of the leading international authorities in veterinary electrochemotherapy.

Pancho’s been through a lot, but this brave 6-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier is on the road to recovery 💙🐾
After arriving to our referral team with a post-renal acute kidney injury caused by a urethral obstruction from urinary stones, Pancho needed urgent care. Through medical management and a surgical procedure to create a new urinary opening (perineal urethrostomy), it was possible to stabilise him and his kidney function has returned to normal.
Pancho’s recovery has been excellent, with a complete recovery and restoration of normal kidney function. He is now very happy at home.
Through it all, Pancho has been the sweetest, bravest boy. We’re so proud of how well he’s doing and greatful to be part of his journey back to health. 🐶✨
