Choosing the right ration for the season ahead? 🌾

When comparing rations, there’s more to consider than just the price. Look at:

🔹 UFL value - and make sure you’re comparing on an as-fed basis
🔹 Ingredient quality - good-quality energy and protein sources matter
🔹 Protein percentage - but quality and source are just as important
🔹 Rumen buffers - particularly where feeding rates are high

The right balance can make a real difference to performance and value from your ration.

⚠️ Keep an eye on emerging oilseed r**e

Flea beetle activity is being reported in oilseed r**e crops this September, with newly emerged crops particularly vulnerable to feeding damage.

We're seeing some significant flea beetle damage in crops at emergence, so now is a good time to walk crops and assess establishment.

Look out for the characteristic shot-hole feeding on cotyledons and young leaves, particularly where crops are slow to establish.

With the current pressure, early crop monitoring is important. 🌱

If you're concerned about your r**e crop, get in touch with the Cooney Furlong Grain team.
