This lovely little stray from last week is still with us. We've named her PΓΊca and xrays have shown she has a broken pelvis and she has no use of her legs or tail. We have consulted with specialists and this type of fracture can heal with time but can also cause permanent nerve damage - PΓΊca currently cannot urinate without assistance. Studies of cats with similar injuries state that if she is showing no improvement two weeks from the initial trauma, prognosis is very poor and euthanasia is recommended. While we wait for those two weeks to pass, PΓΊca is on crate rest and pain relief and we are ensuring she is turned regularly and her toileting needs are being met. She's an awesome little cat who never complains (except when you remove her food!) and seems to be very content with her current situation, which is why we are continuing with her. We are hoping against hope to see some improvement this week and showering her with love, treats and cuddles in the meantime β€οΈ
