🎾 A tennis ball nearly cost Mandy Moore her dog’s life.🎾

In 2019, actress Mandy Moore revealed that her dog Jackson had shredded and swallowed part of a tennis ball without anyone realising.

At around 3:30 am, Jackson was rushed to an emergency veterinary hospital, where he needed surgery to remove the obstruction. Thankfully, the operation was successful, and Jackson recovered. Moore later publicly thanked the veterinary team that cared for him.

Dogs can swallow surprisingly large pieces of toys, balls, socks and other household objects. If an object becomes lodged in the stomach or intestines, it can cause a potentially life-threatening blockage.
Signs can include:

🐾 repeated vomiting
🐾loss of appetite
🐾 lethargy
🐾 abdominal pain or discomfort
🐾 straining to defecate, passing only small amounts of stool, or diarrhoea
🐾 being unable to keep food or water down
If you know or suspect your pet swallowed something they shouldn’t have, contact your vet promptly rather than waiting for symptoms to develop.

Sometimes an ordinary toy can become an emergency.

🐶⭐️ Beara’s hospital review ⭐️🐶

We think this customer is pretty happy with us. 🥰😂

She started off feeling a little unsure… but once she was feeling better, she decided we were actually alright. 😂

Lots of tail wags, lots of kisses and, of course, plenty of belly rubs. 💕🐾

We’re taking that as a 5-star review! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

💊 Human medications can be dangerous for pets.

Many medications that are safe for us can be harmful, or even life-threatening, to dogs and cats.

Remember to keep all medications safely out of your pet's reach.

If you think your pet has accidentally swallowed medication, don't wait for symptoms to appear. Contact your vet or get in touch with us as soon as possible.
