One of the biggest misconceptions about dog walks? That longer is always better. 🐾
This weekend has been full of home stays, pet sitting, and lots of adventures with my girl by my side.
Something I always keep in mind is that enrichment looks different for every dog. For some, it's following every scent they can find. For others, it's exploring a new environment, watching the world go by, or simply moving at a pace that feels comfortable.
A fulfilling walk isn't measured in miles—it's measured by how much opportunity a dog has to engage with their environment, make choices, and use their natural behaviours.
And when the walk ends, the enrichment isn't over. Rest and decompression are just as important. Dogs need time to process everything they've seen, smelt, and experienced. That downtime helps them regulate, recover, and get the full benefit from their outing.
A little behind the scenes of what our weekends often look like—thoughtful adventures, plenty of sniffing, and making sure every dog gets what they need. 🌿🐾💜
