After over 12 years in this game I feel Its my duty to advise on not only when you have a dog but also before, so..........
Here are some things you need to consider owning or that you will eventually own!!
Include these items below in your essential kit list. 📝📝📝
CLOTHING.
Make sure you have clothing that you are comfortable enough to wear 90% of your life because you will either be walking the dog, preparing to walk the dog or just walked the dog.
Winter wellies (these will leak and be not as good as your summer ones)
Summer wellies (as above but “for best”)
Winter walking boots, these will STINK due to never being dry.

“for best”.....the ones you will wear to the pub....with the dog!
A coat with far too many pockets to be practical , each one full of crumbs and poobags.
this will only be waterproof when not raining and far too hot when not raining , The hood on this will be roughly the size of a virgin hot air balloon!!!!
You will also need a Pair of trousers that make that “swish swish” sound as you walk. These can be washed once every 6 months or when the moon is at its 5/8 stage over Leo 🌘
Gloves or more likely GLOVE. The other one is probably on a road somewhere keeping a random shoe company (where do they come from??👞)
CAR.🚗
“I will NEVER have the dog in my car”
One day later.......old towels and fleece blankets strewn across all seats, half empty plastic water bottles, leads clipped to any part of the car that can be clipped, poo bags in every or***ce (the cars!!)
More hair on the seats than a hairdressers bin.
Dog snot and slobber smeared against all windows, somehow including the windscreen (how is that even possible?? But it is!)
This is now the dogs car!!!
LEADS AND HARNESESS. 🐕🦺
One lead for best.
One that matches your dogs collar
“oh yeah that will look soooooo nice and fluffy will be sooooo impressed”. This one you will always forget to use and your poor dog will have mismatched collar and lead, oh the shame! ☹️
One lead that hangs in the cupboard that you dont even know where it came from?!??
Long line, this will stink like your winter walking boots.🤮
Flexi lead, to use in secret due to the flexi lead police!🤫
Puppy lead, keeps this for sentimental reasons.
Various collars and harnesses that will never be thrown out ready for those moments when you cant find the only one you actually use.
DOG 🐩
Your choice but to help you can refer to my scientifically researched dog breed posts on the page from a few weeks back.

DOG FOOD.
Multiple bags of dry food in the cupboard that you buy and tempt your dog with just for fluffy to turn her nose up.....cue ANOTHER trip to pet shop for more bags that fluffy no doubt will turn her nose up at again.
These bags will probably end up getting half eaten by mice or badly sellotaped and left in a supermarket pet charity bin.
A couple of tins of chappie in the cupboard for when fluffy has the shi.......a poorly tummy or because somehow ran out of half empty dry food bags 🤔, this will be the day after you’ve dropped them in the supermarket charity bin.
TOYS.
HUNDREDS of!
Squeaky
Non squeaky,these did squeak once.
Fluffy.
Balls.
Fluffy balls (i know!!)
Kongs of all sizes.
Rope toys.
String toys, were once a rope toy but now resembles string, this will probably become fluffys favourite.
A Christmas toy.
Half eaten various parts of airdried animal all mixed in with the above.
Bits of deer antler that probably have more bacteria living on them now than a bio yogurt!
All of these live in a smelly toy box apart from the string one coz that’s the fave 😍
Owning a dog is a mad world where normal people think it’s not normal until THEY too become a dog person and THEN to them it becomes normal to be not normal 😬😝🤣
I think you are now almost ready for dog ownership😁
