September Vaccine Amnesty

Have your pet’s vaccines expired?

We all lead busy lives and sometimes things get put on the long finger.

If your pets vaccines are overdue, this can necessitate a full course of vaccines over two visits with associated costs.

This September we are offering to cover the cost of the second set of vaccinations in full.

To avail of this offer now book online at nutgrovevets.ie

For dog owners, we know that foxes carry many of the canine diseases we vaccinate against. See the image for a recent map showing the density of fox populations in the greater Dublin area.

Congratulations Winnie!
Winnie recently completed her final chemotherapy treatment with us and is doing great! Her owner says she is back to her usual self and fighting with her doggy sister over the best spot on the couch. We are delighted to see Winnie doing so well and very proud of her and her family for their dedication throughout her treatment.
Winnie will continue to visit us for regular checkup appointments to monitor her health.
Bravo Winnie!

🚨 Heatstroke in Pets: Know the Signs & How to Keep Your Furry Friend Safe 🚨

With summer in full swing, it’s important to be aware of the dangers heatstroke poses to our pets. Dogs and cats can’t regulate their body temperature as effectively as humans, so high temperatures can quickly become a serious health threat.

Here are the key signs of heatstroke in pets to watch out for:
⚠️ Excessive panting
⚠️ Drooling
⚠️ Lethargy or weakness
⚠️ Vomiting or diarrhea
⚠️ Bright red or pale gums
If you notice these symptoms, it’s crucial to act fast!

To keep your pets cool and safe in the heat, remember the WAVES principle:
💧 Water – Always make sure your pet has access to fresh, cool water.
🌬️ Ventilation – Provide a cool, airy environment. Avoid confined spaces like cars and ensure airflow if your pet is inside.
🌳 Shade – Never leave your pet in direct sunlight, especially on hot days. Create shaded areas or move them to a cooler spot.
