🕷️🐾 Keep Fleas & Ticks Away... Naturally! 🌿

As the warmer weather arrives, so do unwanted visitors like fleas and ticks. While no natural remedy can guarantee complete protection, many pet owners like to use natural repellents alongside regular grooming, daily tick checks, and veterinary-recommended parasite prevention where appropriate.

One popular natural option is an apple c***r vinegar (ACV) coat spray.

Here's a simple recipe:

🍎 Natural Apple C***r Vinegar Spray
• 1 part raw, unfiltered apple c***r vinegar
• 4 parts water

Mix in a clean spray bottle and lightly mist your dog's coat before walks, avoiding the eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and any broken or irritated skin. You can also spray a small amount onto a brush before grooming.

Why do people use apple c***r vinegar?

✔️ The smell may help discourage fleas and ticks from settling on your dog's coat.
✔️ It can help keep the coat looking clean and fresh.
✔️ Some owners find it leaves the coat soft and shiny.
✔️ It's a simple, affordable, and chemical-free option for those looking to complement their pet's summer care routine.

Top Summer Tips:

🐾 Check your dog's coat after every woodland or long grass walk.
🌿 Keep your garden tidy to help reduce places where ticks like to hide.
🛁 Regular grooming makes it easier to spot unwanted hitchhikers.
❤️ If you live in an area with a high risk of fleas or ticks, speak with your vet about the most suitable parasite prevention for your pet.

A little prevention goes a long way towards keeping your furry friends happy, healthy, and itch-free all summer long! ☀️🐶🐱

☀️🌡️ Hot Weather Is On The Way... Here's How To Keep Your Pets Safe! 🐶🐱

With temperatures expected to rise across Ireland next week, now is the perfect time to prepare and help keep your four-legged friends cool and comfortable. Dogs and cats can't regulate their body temperature as efficiently as we can, making them much more vulnerable to overheating and heatstroke.

Here are some simple tips to help keep your pets safe:

🐾 Walk your dog early in the morning or later in the evening when temperatures are cooler. Avoid exercising during the hottest part of the day.

🔥 Check the pavement before heading out. If it's too hot for the back of your hand for 7 seconds, it's too hot for your dog's paws. Hot pavements can burn paw pads and also radiate heat upwards, making it even harder for your dog to stay cool.

💧 Always provide plenty of fresh, clean water and encourage your pet to drink regularly throughout the day.

🌳 If your pet is spending time outdoors, make sure they have access to plenty of shade and a cool area to rest. Never leave pets in a parked car, even for a few minutes.

🥣 Chilled bone broth is a fantastic way to help keep dogs hydrated while providing valuable nutrients and natural electrolytes.

🧊 Cooling jackets, cooling mats and other cooling products can make a huge difference in helping regulate your dog's body temperature during warmer weather.

⚠️ Watch out for signs of heatstroke, including excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, confusion, or collapse. If you suspect your pet is suffering from heatstroke, move them to a cool area, offer small amounts of cool (not ice-cold) water, and contact your vet immediately.

Let's all enjoy the sunshine safely and keep our furry family members happy, healthy, and cool! ☀️🐾
