Summer sun and happy bees in Glenasmole! ☀️🐝

What a glorious day for our latest Beekeeping Experience! The Dublin Mountains put on a serious show with the weather, and the hives were absolutely buzzing with activity. 🏔️✨

There is nothing quite like seeing someone’s face light up when they hold a frame full of honeybees for the very first time. We got right inside the hives, inspected the colony health, and saw firsthand just how hard the girls are working this season. 🍯

A massive thank you to this fantastic group for coming along and bringing such great energy to the farm!

Want to get suited up and step inside the hives yourself this summer? Weekend dates for our Glenasmole Beekeeping Experiences are live on our website! 🤝

The very last batch of our Killruddery Heather Honey is in the jars! 🍯

These are the final few jars of the harvest from the gorgeous Killruddery estate.

The good news? You can grab yours and the rest of the range right now on the shelves at the Killruddery Farm Shop—perfect if you are visiting the estate or garden gates this week! It is also available to order directly on our brand-new website. 💻✨

The girls are already planning their next big project, though. In just a couple of weeks, they will be moving their focus from the summer blossom to the heather on the Little Sugar Loaf to start the next run! 🐝

🔗 Link in our bio to shop online, or pop into the farm shop to grab a jar before they are completely gone!

A very local delivery day in D24! 🍯☕️

I was just dropping off a fresh order to the team at Coffee at the Edge when the girls showed me their brand-new Honey Bee Late 🍯☕️ ✨

It’s a proper neighbourhood collaboration! The honey they use is harvested from our hives just a few hundred metres away at the Amazon data centre on the Green Hills Road.

To make it even better, the coffee is roasted just down the road at their sister spot, Priory Market in Tallaght Village. 🤝🔥

Along with the local Green Hills honey, I’ve also just restocked them with our multi-award-winning heather honey.

So whether you’re there for a latte or to grab a jar of the "good stuff" for home, they’ve got you covered. 🐝🍯

The best caddy a beekeeper could ask for! 🐝⛳

We had a brilliant day at our apiary in Carrickmines Golf Club doing the first big spring check. The sun was shining, the bees were busy, and I even had my Mum, Pauline Grehan along to help me with the heavy lifting!

As you can see, the girls have been incredibly productive, so it was definitely time to clear off the burr comb and get the supers (our honey boxes) on. This gives them plenty of space to store all that lovely spring nectar.

There’s nothing like a bit of family teamwork in the Dublin sunshine to get the season off to a great start. ☀️🍯

Tomorrow is the day! 🏆🐝

Olly’s Farm has been shortlisted for an award and we're heading to the RDS 😀

We're finalists for the Sustainable Rural Innovation Award 2026.

From using technology in our beekeeping business to our circular-economy packaging, we are proving that our little farm in the Dublin Mountains can be a global leader in tech-driven farming.

Huge thanks to everyone who has supported the journey. Wish us luck! 🇮🇪✨🤞🤞🤞

Spring check-up at Dublin Hills Goats Cheese 🐐✨

Checking in on the girls at Dublin Hills Goats Cheese 🐝🐝🐝 I’ve been keeping bees on Tim’s farm for over 10 years now, and they are looking better than ever!

I’ve just finished adding supers to the 15 colonies that made it through the winter. They’ll be working hard now to collect nectar for the honey that Tim uses in his delicious honey soft goat’s cheese. 🧀🍯

Swipe to see the hives in action and the goats enjoying the spring grass! ➡️

A busy day at the office! 🐝

There’s a reason they call them "busy bees." We spent the morning at our apiary in the stunning Killruddery House and Gardens, getting the hives organised for the spring flow.

As you can see, the girls have been hard at work building "burr comb"—that extra bit of wax they tuck into every available nook. We have to clear it off to make sure there’s plenty of space for the honey boxes (supers) to sit properly.

It was a beautifully calm, overcast day—right up until I tried to leave and hit the local rush hour traffic! 🐄🚜

So lucky to have our bees in such a magnificent setting.

A busy afternoon in the apiary! 🐝

I had my lovely neighbour Elsa over to the farm today to help out with some hive inspections. There is nothing quite like sharing the magic of the bees with friends!

We spent the afternoon checking on the health of the colonies and getting everything organised for the season ahead. As you can see from the photos, the girls have been very busy, so it was definitely time to start adding supers. Adding these extra boxes gives the bees more space to store all that delicious nectar they’re currently foraging from the local wildflowers.

It’s a great feeling seeing the hives thrive as we head into the warmer months.
