GardaĂ are asking drivers to slow down and take extra care this August bank holiday weekend.
A nationwide roads policing operation will focus on speeding, drink and drug driving, mobile phone use and seatbelt offences.
As of Tuesday morning, 105 people had lost their lives on Irish roads this year.
