Felix is a friendly, 13ish year old who was taken from outside his home in Blackrock (Covent Gardens area) by two teens on an electric scooter last night. They lured him over before picking him up BY THE TAIL and getting away. Please check ring cameras, sheds or bushes as we’re hoping they dropped him after a while and he’s just terrified. If you have teenagers or they have friends that have electric scooters, quiz them. If anyone tries to sell or give away Felix please let us know, his family are beside themselves!

September is animal pain awareness month 🐾

Chronic pain can present in subtle ways in our pets:
❤️‍🩹 Change in sleeping patterns - older pets may sleep more but this can also be associated with pain/discomfort.
❤️‍🩹 Licking - dogs do not groom themselves like cats, so licking a particular area can be associated with pain.
❤️‍🩹 Over or under grooming in cats - associated with pain or inability to groom due to discomfort.
❤️‍🩹 Change in behaviour - animals may appear more withdrawn, irritable, aggressive, display hiding behaviours, increased vocalisation or avoidance of petting/handling.
❤️‍🩹 Change in appetite - animals may eat less, this can also be due to mouth pain which can lead to weight loss.
❤️‍🩹 Mobility issues - difficulty rising after rest, reluctance to go up or down steps/stairs, reluctance to jump onto or off of surfaces.
❤️‍🩹 Lameness or restlessness - pacing, trembling, abnormal gait, weight shifting or inability to find a comfortable resting position.
❤️‍🩹 Change in activity or play - animals may appear to rest more or be less keen to carry out normal playful activities.

If you have noticed some of these changes in your pet or are concerned your pet may be in pain, contact us today to learn more on how we can help to improve your pets comfort levels and quality of life 🫶🏻

📢 PSA: Keep upstairs windows on the latch if you too have a parkour puppy 🙃
A couple of weeks ago Niya decided to pop out and have a gander at the neighbourhood from a different vantage point.. 🫠 She trotted back through a different window to the one she went out, proud as punch and most importantly, safe!
She’s giving Simba and Mufasa “Look Niya. Everything the light touches is our kingdom” 🤭
Disclaimer: No one was harmed in the taking of this photo. Niya is grounded forever 💁🏻‍♀️

Bit of a late post from us but we would like to remember and acknowledge all those pets that have left paw prints on our hearts 🌈

The pets we have helped, cared for and treated in this practice and throughout our careers. We remember and miss them too 🦋

Today, we remember the ones whose names still make us smile, the ones we still hope to see lying in their favourite spot, the ones we would give anything to have one more day with 🐾

Their life and the unconditional love they gave will always be remembered and we hope to see them again one day 🤍

If you would like to share the pets that have left an impact on your life in the comments we would be delighted to see them 🐶🐱🐰🐹

**URGENT** We have had a lovely cat handed in today. She’s well groomed and cared for, so it’s obvious she is someone’s pet.

She is microchipped but not registered on Fido, animark or europetnet.

The people who found her think she may have been hit by a car on college road by UCC and was found last night at midnight and they took it in home for the evening. She’s currently in our care but we need to find the owners! If you recognise her or think you know the owners please reach out to them and ask them to contact us directly!

Please contact us on 021 2038344.
