The GPCert(SAS) is a General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. It is a post-graduate qualification awarded by the International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS).

☀️ Hot weather can be dangerous for our canine companions.

Dogs can quickly overheat, even on days that don’t feel excessively hot to us. Heatstroke is a life-threatening emergency and can develop rapidly, especially in flat-faced breeds, older dogs, overweight pets, and those with underlying health conditions.

🐾 Help keep your dog safe by:
💧 Providing plenty of fresh water
🌳 Ensuring access to shade
🚶 Walking during the cooler morning or evening hours
🚗 Never leaving your dog in a parked car

⚠️ Signs of heatstroke include excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, collapse, or difficulty breathing.

If you suspect your dog may be suffering from heatstroke, move them to a cool area and contact your veterinary practice immediately.

Stay safe and enjoy the sunshine responsibly. ❤️🐶

Heatstroke can happen fast. 🐶☀️
If your dog is panting heavily, drooling, weak, vomiting, or struggling to settle, act quickly: move them to a cool area, offer water, and contact your vet immediately. Never leave dogs in cars. Avoid walks during peak heat.
