Thanks to your support both girls are now just back from our vet.
They have had a full vetting as planned.
New rugs and all their re-feeding plan has been collected from Kellihers.

Let’s start with the smaller mare on the right with Aine we have named Róisín meaning little Rose.

She as I had said has Pyometra. Our vet scanned her and then washed her out.
She is also taking in a lot of air but to be expected over how extremely thin she is behind. That will change as she gains weight and our vet can also help by stitching her but not for now as he has washed her out and he needs to remove the infection first.

Her teeth are not too bad but she will need a dental once she gains more weight to be able to be sedated.

He cleaned her wound and has started her on pain relief and antibiotics. Our vet feels she has a good chance of recovery but he will know more once the blood results are back.

On the left of Aine we have Lasair meaning flame. I just hope she can shine as bright as she can and she needs all the luck you can send her.

Again I knew her Pyometra was bad but it cant get much worse said our vet.

He scanned her and cleaned her out but said be prepared for the worst result, Im sorry 😢

On Monday when he has all the results back only then can he make a decision if he can save her or not 💔

Rescue is also doing right by the animals you stand for and if our vet has no choice to gentle let her go……. we will walk her to The Bridge with a full tummy, drowned in cuddles and set her spirit free.

Id save her over and over again if it meant she would finally be free of all pain and suffering. Its just so hard. Im so sad tonight 🦋

fans

Tonight my army we need to have a serious discussion and a decision made.

Two extremely emaciated mares were dumped in Limerick.

A kind horsey man has taken them in after hearing they would be euthanised and disposed of hoping to find them help.
He thought it would be easy but nobody into horses will touch them.

I can of course fully understand why as it is a professional job to bring them back to health and you would have to know how to re-feed them.

How do horses get this thin?

Strangles. No trace now but they will need to go into quarantine and our vet to blood test them for it. Its very common in equines collected for slaughter in contaminated yards.
Deliberate starvation.
Mares that lost their foals and need to be washed out from infection.
Dental problems and pain related.
A heavy worm burden especially fluke.
Ulcers or chronic digestive disease, infection, liver/kidney disease, or less commonly cancer.

You all know I can do this. Ive done it all my life in rescue with a 90 % success rate.

We have the best equine vet who is an expert at this and has been my mentor for all my life in rescue saving so many together with Passion being one of our most famous horses and Amber our recent one who looks forward to going home tomorrow.

But….. this is going to be at a huge cost for almost a year and I cant agree to do this without your support financially.

In the past Id have just gone to get them with the excitement of saving them but you all know how hard I have to work now doing auctions and extra hours trying to keep hitting our targets.

In blunt. I want a decision made by you my army. If I go get them?
Will you all come to my side to help?

Please dont donate yet.
I want first to see how much support we can get.

This post does break my heart more than you know as I know I can do this and lack of funds have now controlled my future decisions as a rescuer but I cant put our centre under more pressure 💔

My army….. be honest.
Can I go get them?

**** Booked now for a ten star home with another rescuer.
We are so delighted for Amber*****

We are looking for a home for Amber.
It would be great to find her a lovely family before Winter comes.

Amber is called Hound Music ( GB )
Born 12 April 2012
Sire:Ashkalani ( IRE )
Dam:Saffron Fox ( GB )

Amber is extremely quiet and so well mannered.
Easy for the farrier, box and easy to catch.

Her feet are newly done and she is wormed.

As a mare that has been raced she has a lot of training done so she will be a fabulous pleasure horse. She is not hot but easy going unless you want her to move up the gears. She has a lovely soft mouth.

Our vet immediately did her surgery.
He said it was shocking.

If that was not bad enough he also discovered a transverse fracture of both mandibles. In blunt her lower jaw is hanging off 💔

Today’s surgery was very long and severe so as you can imagine our vet wants her to recover first before he decides to save or remove that part of her jaw.

Aine and I just called in to see her and she is awake and has had some special wet food she can lick and swallow.

Twinkle is just a warrior to have kept going with so much pain and suffering. Almost hoping one day it would be her time to make it out and she did 🥲

Today you raised 700 eu off her bill.
Thank you so much.

She will need to hit a much larger target as her needs are endless at the moment.

If anyone can help Twinkle would be forever grateful 🐾

This week I lost a week with you all on our page over being so ill.
I had started to feel better yesterday but today its back with vengeance.

So please I will need you all to help with our fundraiser today Im not physically or mentally able. I just need any to crawl back to bed….. 😔

At the moment there is so many animals in the dark world that need out. I am getting what I can but without a successful fundraiser we are running on empty.

The German Shepherd.
Dolly we named her is in a shocking state. So thin. Very bad skin condition from living in filth. She needs a dental. Her teeth are bad. Then all her other vet work too.

Molly is 6 yrs old. An ex breeder.
At least she is in good condition.
She does need a mammary tumour removed while she is being spayed. Plus all her other vet work.

These two kittens were found dumped/straying and handed into our vets. They too need all their vet work too.

I really need to recover but I am badly needed at work too.

Can we get this fundraiser off the ground to take the main pressure off me? 🙏
It would mean a lot.
Love Suzanne 🦋

I also got you an update on the new puppy who is still with our vet.

Our vet said he was without a humerus bone as well as the paw.

In blunt it is just like an empty little purse hanging there.

Our vet wants him to get stronger first and then he will do surgery to remove it.

He is such a happy little man beside it all.

Apologies for being off radar.

I cant tell you how sick Ive been. Thankfully the medication is finally kicking in. Thank you to everyone who sent lovely messages.

I was five mins back today and straight on to the dark world where I had heard a fox cub was held captive.

Yes I have her safe. She is so thin and god love her she was so happy to see food and water.

Tomorrow she starts her journey to the amazing wildlife experts who will then take over. Professionally rehabbing her.

Thank you Betz for arranging and transport.
