⚠️ SLUG PELLETS CAN BE DEADLY TO DOGS ⚠️
As the weather warms up and gardeners tackle slugs and snails, it’s important to remember that many slug pellets contain metaldehyde, a highly toxic substance that can be fatal to dogs.
Even a small amount can cause severe poisoning, with symptoms appearing within as little as 30 minutes:
🐾 Vomiting
🐾 Excessive drooling
🐾 Restlessness or agitation
🐾 Muscle tremors or twitching
🐾 Seizures
🐾 High temperature
🐾 Collapse
🚨 If you suspect your dog has eaten slug pellets, contact your vet immediately. Every minute counts.
To keep your pets safe:
✅ Use pet-safe slug control alternatives
✅ Store garden products securely
✅ Read product labels carefully
✅ Check your garden regularly for pellets
