And just like that, my whole heart turns 9.
I got Bear when I was 24. A time when I didn’t know myself, and not sure I still do. But as cliche as it sounds. I know who I am when I’m with him. I’m a Dog Mom who has always put her dogs first. Even when I’m asked about plans, it always revolves around them. Partly because I don’t like leaving them alone for too long, and mainly because I don’t like when they’re not around. Bear has shown me what it’s like to be utterly adored. And I owe him the world for that. And in turn I can’t enjoy myself knowing he’s waiting for me to come home. So to cut that out for the most part of our days, I created DOGMOB, so that he didn’t have to wait anymore. He’s come to work with me everyday since, bar the few he misses now, as he’s getting older and can be a little tired in the morning! Honestly never thought I’d say that, my most energetic pup who climbed 3 mountains a day with me, and still wasn’t tired, now needs lie ins.
3 months shy of 9 years. It feels like it was only yesterday he strolled out of a barn in Sligo, and 9 years later he literally owns the entirety of my heart. This boy is my comfort in any situation. He’s sat with me through various different heart breaks, he’s walked with me through every different feeling. Sometimes we’ve gone for happy walks, sometimes sad, and sometimes angry. And he’s been the same Bear to show up everytime, even when I might not have been the same me. And he’s loved me through every version of me. That happy head is the only head I ever see. Bear is the most carefree dog I’ve met, and I love him so much for that. He’s such a big softy, and he makes me one too. I even have the letter B on my eternal finger, because this is my eternal love ❤️
Bear, Bearzo, Mr Bear, Big Man, Dumb Dumb, Baby Boy, Mr Moo. Happy 9th Birthday. I love you so much, thank you for crossing my timeline, and sharing your amazing spirit with me. It’s me and you forever ❤️🐶
