3rd puppy session for Cocker Spaniel pup Odin!

Odin has learned & matured so much in the past 6 weeks or so since I started working with his family.

When I first went out to see Odin, big sister Lola and their family the dogs were struggling as Odin was a bit too much for Lola and the family was finding him over the top in very many situations, which although typical for many pups doesn’t make it any easier to deal with, especially when trying to balance the needs of an elderly dog, a boisterous pup and a busy family!

Now Odin & Lola are doing so much better together & Odin has learned to show more self control with family members & visitors as well as being managed around the house.

His family are very dedicated & have worked really hard to implement Odin’s training & I’m delighted it’s paying off so well for them all.

Little Maggie is an absolutely tiny Chihuahua but I can see a BIG personality waiting to break out!! Although she’s a nervous girl she wants to interact with new people and visitors to her home.

Maggie came to me a few weeks ago for a trial day for Doggie daycare but unfortunately I could see quite quickly that she wasn’t ready for that sort of environment so through my 3 Session Puppy Bundle we’re working with her family to build her confidence at home and preparing her to be able to get out and about walking & seeing the world. She did great with our 1st session today! Go Team Maggie 🎉👏🐾

Vixen & her mum had her 2nd session with me last week & oh my gosh WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT!!! 🎉👏😍

Only a couple of weeks ago the sight of a sheep would send Vixen into a frenzy of barking and lunging at them, making her stressful & unmanageable to walk in the family’s local area of The Curragh where sheep free roam and frequently pop up without warning!

During this session Vixen was only to not only see sheep but walk through little herds of them & although she’s watching them she was able to remain calm & continue working for her mum! Vixen & her family have been working hard to implement the training exercises and build Vixen’s focus & confidence & it’s great to see the results. 👏

She’s also doing great with her reactivity to motorcycles & vehicles with louder engines and her chasing members of the family as they walk over gravel/stones in their garden.

What is your dog reactive to? Many dogs are reactive & bark & lunge towards other dogs, strangers passing by or visitors to the home, cars, kids on bikes etc.

My Lovely Horse Animal Rescue is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team and help care for the dogs in our rescue.

This is a rewarding role for someone who genuinely loves dogs and understands the importance of patience, kindness and responsible animal care. Our dogs come from a variety of backgrounds, and each one deserves the opportunity to feel safe, cared for and loved.

The ideal candidate will:
Have a genuine passion for dogs and animal welfare

Have a good understanding of different dog breeds, behaviours and individual needs

Hold a full, valid driver’s licence

Be reliable, hardworking and responsible

Be patient, compassionate and confident handling dogs

This role is preferred as a live, we will provide accommodation.

The role will involve the day-to-day care of our rescue dogs, including feeding, cleaning kennels, exercise, general care and helping to maintain a safe, calm and caring environment.

Working in animal rescue can be challenging, but it is also incredibly rewarding. Every day, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of dogs who need a second chance.

This treasured family member has been missing for some time now from North Dublin. But, she could be anywhere by now and her humans are desperate to get her home safely.
I know that this is every dog lover's nightmare, the not knowing, the not being able to help their beloved dog. Let's keep sharing to make Raya too hot to handle and to really get the word out there, beyond social media, about getting her home safe.

I met this lovely girlie Vixen last week. Vixen is a Poodle Shepherd cross and full of energy & fun.

Vixen also has a few of dislikes!! Namely Sheep 🐑, Motorcycles & anyone walking over or kicking gravel/stones!

The sheep are a particular problem as Vixen lives in The Curragh, an area of Kildare where the sheep are free roaming! Unfortunately Vixen finds sheep springing up out of nowhere very overwhelming but she actually did very well during the first session of our 3 session reactivity bundle and was able to watch some sheep first in a field & then some free roaming sheep on the road at a safe distance while engaging with me & her mum.

I look forward to continue working with Vixen and her family over the next month or so & helping them build confidence with these situations.
