How to take yourself off the on call rota

30/08/2026

Top 5️⃣ takeaways 📌
from ESVD/ECVD Congress 2026

5️⃣ Otitis: “It’s not about what I should put in the ear; it’s about why the ear has an infection.”

4️⃣ Atopic dermatitis - Treat to Target (T2T): Set an objective treatment target (e.g. itch), measure progress, change treatment if you’re not hitting it, then maintain remission.

3️⃣ Calcinosis cutis: Rethink the work-up - don’t just think hyperadrenocorticism; consider renal disease too.

2️⃣ Food allergy: Elimination- reprovocation remains the diagnostic standard - IgE serology, prick and patch testing aren’t reliable substitutes.

🏆1️⃣ Eosinophilic granuloma? Wipe with water before cytology - you’ll find more eosinophils.
