As much as I love every dog that comes through the door, fleas are one guest I can’t allow into the salon 😅

If I discover fleas during your dog’s groom, I'll need to stop the appointment and ask for collection as soon as possible so I can protect the other dogs in my care. A flea bomb fee will also apply to cover the deep clean and salon treatment needed afterwards.

I know these things can happen, especially in warmer weather, and there’s absolutely no judgement from me, I just want to keep the salon clean, safe and comfortable for every dog that visits 🛁✨

Please give your dog a little check over before bringing them in, especially during flea season. A quick brush and check can make a big difference 🐶

Thank you for understanding and helping me keep tails wagging and itching to a minimum 😂🐾

Dog Mum Day: the one day we officially celebrate the women who can identify the sound of a dog about to be sick from three rooms away 😄

The ones who say “I’m just popping out for an hour” then spend the whole trip checking the dog camera. The ones who somehow have more photos of their dog than actual family members. And yes… the ones who apologise when they accidentally stand on a paw that was directly in the middle of the kitchen floor.
Being a dog mum means sharing your bed, your snacks, your sofa… and occasionally your personal space in the bathroom too.

But honestly? We wouldn’t have it any other way.

Happy Dog Mum Day to every woman whose day revolves around walk times, treat jars, muddy paws, and making sure the water bowl is always topped up.

Tag a dog mum who’ll definitely relate to this 👇

Lola had her first big girl haircut this week ✂️

Before today, Lola had already been coming in for puppy grooming sessions to help her get used to the grooming environment, the sounds, the handling, and all the little parts of the grooming process. That early introduction makes such a difference, and today she did so well having her hair cut for the first time.

She was so brave from start to finish and took everything in her stride 💕

Helping puppies build confidence with grooming at their own pace is so important for creating a positive experience as they grow.

If your puppy is getting ready for their first groom, feel free to message me to chat about how I can help make it a calm and happy experience.

Just a little update from me while I take a few days to travel around Scotland 🙂

I won’t be near my work phone during this time, so replies may be a bit slower than usual. That said, bookings can still be made anytime online at www.doggystylez.ie and I’ll get back to you as soon as I’m back.

May is now fully booked, but I do have some availability in the first week of June if you’re planning ahead.

If your dog is due a groom, you can pop online and secure your spot while I’m away 🙂

Doing this ONE thing with your cockapoo’s coat will save you from a surprise shave… 👀

Brushing all the way down to the skin (not just over the top) is what actually prevents those tight knots from forming underneath.

Fluffy on the outside doesn’t always mean tangle free, and those curls can start matting close to the skin long before you notice anything.

Dogs with this type of coat really need to be kept on a regular 6 to 8 week grooming schedule to stay comfortable and manageable. It makes a huge difference to what we can achieve without taking the coat shorter than planned.

I’m currently booked around 4 weeks in advance, so it’s best to get organised early rather than waiting until it becomes a bigger job.

If you’re not sure you’re getting right down to the skin when brushing, send me a message and I’ll get you booked in 😊

Charlie the mini poodle had his first “big boy” haircut this week, and what a transformation it was. He took everything in his stride and handled the experience beautifully.

We also welcomed Lenny, a six month old Golden Retriever, in for his second groom. It’s always lovely to see young dogs growing in confidence with each visit, and Lenny did just that.

They both did so well, and moments like these really remind me how lucky I am to do this job. Being part of their early grooming experiences and helping them feel comfortable is something I never take for granted.

If you’re thinking about starting your dog’s grooming journey or keeping them on a regular schedule, feel free to get in touch, I’d love to help. 🥰

I see it all the time, dogs struggling on tiles or laminate and slowly changing how they move to cope. What starts as the odd slip can turn into tension, stiffness, and a real loss of confidence around the home.

One of the simplest ways to help is keeping paws tidy and nails at the right length. It improves grip, supports better movement, and helps your dog feel more secure day to day.

If you’ve noticed your dog hesitating on your floors, it might be time for a quick paw tidy.
