It's only September and we've already received more cats and kittens this year than in the whole year of 2025. Or 2024. Or 2023. Or 2022... And don't forger the 8 rescue goats that arrived in February! Each goat brought a workload of 25 kittens, it feels. More goats: Goats Of Gili

This mommycat brought all her babies to our mama foundation Gili Eco Reef Conservation 𓆉 today. From there they were brought to us.

They are all fine. There's fleas, possibly worms, but otherwise all seems ok. Mommy is very caring, babies are still very young and tiny.

We don't know if this cat has a home. If anyone is missing their black mommycat with 4 kittens, please contact us. Nothing to worry about, kitties were just brought here at Cats Of Gili for their safety.

Kittens had flea bath and they were not very happy about it. But had to be done, they all had gazillion fleas.

These 4 kittens and their mommy arrived last week. Two of the kittens were very weak and hd stopped eating. It didn't look too good for a while, but now even the weakest little kitten has started to eat again. Things are looking pretty good and if all goes well, they can go back home later this week.

Meow meow! This cat family just arrived. Mommycat and her 4 babies. 2 of the kittens are not doing too well, so their family brought them all to stay with us for a while.

After being a bit nervous, they all started to eat. What a relief!

Sick kittens got medication already so hopefully they will feel better in a day or two. They all need treatment for fleas and worms and we'll do that also.

Fingers toes paws and all crossed they all will be ok soon!

Meow. Here's pictures of some of our hospital kitties from last week. Most have made fantastic recovery and have gone home already, so things have calmed down a bit. Thank goodness!

Last week was HARD. Our hospital cages were full, our goat Vappu gave birth and didn't want to feed her baby for the first 48h, our goat food collecting lady was on days off, running water was off for the whole island. .. I don't know how we got through it all.

But all is good now. We have only one cat at the hospital (yet another electric scooter victim!). Goat Vappu has found her motherly instincts and has become a very attentive mommy, baby goat Mikko is doing great, running water is back, and all is well. (Our GrumpyOldCatlady is a bit tired, burned out, and mentally a mess, but hey, when isn't she? )

Hey all! Our little cat shop will be closed today (Thursday September 10th).

Been up all night checking on our newborn baby goat and helping him nurse. Mommygoat Vappu isn't really the mother of the year, and needs help in feeding the baby. Hopefully Vappu will figure things out soon!

So we're all exhausted, goats and the human too. Need a rest today.

Shop will be open again, hopefully, tomorrow on Friday Sept. 11th.

This happened today. Our goat Vappu gave birth to a little baby boy. Godmother Satsuma is checking the newborn immediately after birth.

Hooray! Cat Mochi just started eating! What a relief!

Mochi's hooman dad just visited and brought some yummy fish. That worked like magic, as fish often does.

Mochi is now recovering well, and no surprises, he can go home at the end of this week. Fingers toes paws and all crossed for that!

Meow meow! Happy day for cat Bison and his family: Bison just went back home!
What a week it was for him. Being so sick we weren't sure he will make it, and then pulling through and recovering so fast and well.

Bison's little brother Mochi is with us now, he is very sick but we hope he will get his miracle too. Fingers toes paws and all crossed for Mochi!

We have been absolutely full with sick cats, so being able to send some cats home is a relief to us too. Especially now that we do not have running water.

Yes, still no running water. It's day 5 that the whole island is without clean, fresh water. 😡
