Wow: new handicapable dog! 😯
A dog we were shown from a Mayan family crossed in front of our space yesterday. After a conversation with the family, we all decided the dog should come to stay with us at the sanctuary.

He is one of the saddest examples I've seen in a long time, however these unique cases are what make this work very special. ❤️🥹

We currently have a fundraiser active for sterilizing the dogs of Lake Atitlan.c we need funding in order to set up the next clinic, which we could do as early as this November.

**Also: today is the first day I've learned of the , and I am submitting this video for a chance for us to win $50,000!**

Sanctuary update: tough times! 😅
Life is good but it's never easy. Especially, starting a dog Sanctuary from scratch and running it for 5 years certainly is very not easy! 😭
However our gratitude is high, as our organization lives, our team is growing, and we have a very happy two packs of dogs on our two sanctuaries.

🙏 We're super grateful for everything we have.
☝️But the fact is, running a sanctuary costs money.
💲We now have two full time employees, but lacking funds to be able to compensate them both properly.

Sterilization Fundraiser Update! ✅
We accomplished the VERY FIRST clinic for the mountain town of Santa Lucia, Utatlan!
We got to sterilize 27 animals, and were welcomed with open arms by the town!
☝️We've begun a fundraiser to sterilize up to 160 animals this year!
🙏 We need your support to pay for the veterinarians work, and continue to sterilize dogs along the lake!
🤝$40 can sterilize one dog, and $33 for one cat, as well as provide needed medications, and vaccinations!

📣 New fundraiser announcement!! 🎊

We are creating the biggest sterilization campaign we have ever done in guatemala, and launching a fundraiser today to sterilize up to 160 dogs and cats over the course of an entire year. 😳

This is going to be a humongous undertaking, but this is the necessary steps in order to move forward for progress in the world of rescue here in Guatemala.

On average we've accomplished two clinics a year, and we have to do individual fundraising for every single one. However, this time we're going to fundraise for four clinics that we will do over the course of the next year. Every clinic does approximately 40 dogs, and we're shooting for a whole 160 starting with the first clinic tomorrow in Santa Lucia! 😁👌💯

We're aiming to raise $8,000 USD to cover absolutely all costs of sterilizations, including dewormer medication, vaccines, and anti parasite meds for every single animal that needs it!

We will be posting the link in our story, and I'll be posting it in the bio of our instagram. It'll also be sent out on the email list. If you need help finding the fundraiser, please reach out and send a DM!

⚠️Abandoned Sanctuary update number 2!
We are rebuilding the system from scratch. We're hiring locals to help run the association. Relying on volunteers as non-sustainable, and employing the locals benefits of community as well as our own organization. 🙂👍

✅This is for the better of all, and we are loving how it's coming so far!

🤗Maria, our local "doggy chef", came for her first day of watching the doggies in the daytime. It went swimmingly!
