🎉 A Huge Thank You! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our 25th Anniversary Summer Open Day last Saturday. It was a wonderful day, and we were absolutely thrilled to see so many people helping us celebrate 25 years of North Yorkshire Cat Centre. 🐱❤️

We are still finalising the figures, but we're delighted to share that we raised over £1,200! This fantastic amount will go directly towards helping us care for the many cats and kittens at the centre.

A massive thank you to our amazing team who worked so hard to make the day so special. We'd also like to thank York Gin, who sadly couldn't join us on the day but kindly provided their pop-up bar and delicious gins for everyone to enjoy. Thank you as well to the wonderful local businesses who donated raffle prizes Yorkshire Wildlife The Deep Flamingo Land Resort Hearts Boutique Adventure Cinema Castle Howard The Cat Gallery and to our fabulous volunteers who gave up their Saturday to help make the event such a success.

How lucky are we to have such brilliant volunteers and supporters? 💕

🎉 Just a Reminder - Our 25th Anniversary Open Day is This Saturday! 🎉

Join us on Saturday 22nd August as we celebrate 25 wonderful years of the North Yorkshire Cat Centre! 🐱❤️

Our doors will be open from 12pm to 3pm, and we have a fantastic afternoon planned with something for everyone:

🐾 Stalls packed with gifts for the cats and cat lovers in your life
🎲 Fun games for the children
🎟️ A fabulous raffle with some amazing prizes up for grabs
✨ An extra-special tombola this year
🍰 Delicious cakes and refreshments
🍸 A pop-up York Gin Bar
🌿 Plant stall & Homemade Jams
📚 Book stall
🐱 And, of course, the chance to look around the centre and see our beautiful cats who are patiently waiting for a loving new home.

It's going to be a really special day, and we'd love for you to join us in celebrating 25 years of making a positive difference for cats and the community.

We’re hosting a beginner‑friendly Jesmonite Workshop with the brilliant objectify co , led by local artist Gabi Renavent. Over a relaxed two‑hour session, you’ll learn how to mix, pour and design your own beautiful pieces using this eco‑friendly material.

You’ll make three handmade items to take home:
• a terrazzo pot
• a ring dish
• a marble‑effect coaster

✨ HAPPY HOMING UPDATE – TWIST & SPINNER (now Prince and Bagheera) ✨

We were so delighted to receive this lovely update about Prince and Bagheera, previously known as Twist and Spinner, who have settled into their forever home amazingly well. 💖

Their adopters tell us the boys are loving all the cuddles and fusses 🥰 and, while they wait a little longer before venturing outside, they’re thoroughly enjoying watching the world go by from the windowsill.

Bagheera has claimed the highest perch on the cat tree as his kingdom and is having great fun playing with the knitted mouse and bunny toys he took home with him. Meanwhile, Prince has decided that the cardboard scratcher box is the ultimate sleeping spot — despite having four comfy beds around the house! 😂

It sounds like these two gorgeous boys are already adored beyond measure and we couldn’t be happier for them and their new family. Thank you so much for the wonderful update and photos guys! Hearing how well our cats are settling in truly makes our day. 🐾✨
