Aquatread Canine Hydrotherapy is an underwater treadmill facility, using the natural healing elements of water to help rehabilitate pets with joint, muscular conditions, weight loss or for general fun & fitness. Our Hydrotherapist is fully trained and holds a Level 4 Certificate & Diploma in small animal Hydrotherapy. The facility and therapist are fully insured and registered with NARCH the Natio

nal Association of Registered Canine Hydrotherapists. Our treadmill water is heated to the optimum 28-32 degrees which is proven to have beneficial results in the recovery process. The water is regularly sanitised and tested for cleanliness quality, we have shower and drying facilities and country walks are available nearby. Clinical recovery pre or post surgery, injury, weight loss or fun & fitness, we will work closely with you and your dog to obtain the best possible results. Hydrotherapy is proven to speed recovery after operations or slow the progression of degenerative conditions. It may be used as a pre-operative fitness regime to allow a dog to maintain condition before an operation. The aqua treadmill provides support and allows the dog to exercise its muscles while regeneration is taking place. Degenerative conditions can make normal weight bearing exercise difficult and pressure on joints and limbs may aggravate some conditions, so hydrotherapy can be used in these cases to allow the dog to exercise in an environment where there is no pressure on the affected areas. As it is possible to alter both the depth of the water in the treadmill and the speed of the treadmill, extra resistance can be provided to further promote the use of limbs and speed up the process of rebuilding muscle mass. Double Trouble 😈.
Young Poppy was woofing on her big sister Lily during her Hydro.

At our hydrotherapy sessions we allow our clients to bring their young puppies or their other dogs, that may be nervous or have separation issues.
This is a good training opportunity & confidence building for both dogs.

We offer free social sessions for new dogs to come in to meet us and get comfortable with the environment before starting hydrotherapy.
We also do puppy sessions that enables young dogs to come in the treadmill to play in the water for confidence building.

Getting puppies and anxious dogs used to a hydrotherapy environment can help greatly benefit them in the future if therapy is ever needed.

Effective treatment for rehabilitation, pain management, muscle building, fitness and management of health conditions.
Treatment builds lost strength, supports older patients, aids recover from surgery and slows deterioration of medical conditions.

In the underwater treadmill the dog walks submerged in water
and the environment allows the therapist to control the water depth and speed. This ensures optimum buoyancy, support, limb loading & gait speed are provided for the patient and condition treated.

Hydrostatic pressure and warm water help reduce pain, inflammation, reduces muscle tightness/spasms and increases blood flow to encourage healing.
Water provides a greater resistance compared to air on land & movement in warm water increases joint range of motion & reduces stiffness. Patients regain lost muscle and treatment prevents further muscle atrophy.
It’s also a great environment to improve stamina, cardiovascular fitness and provide a good work area for high energy dogs.

We also offer water socialisation & fun therapy sessions.
