🐾 National Walk Your Dog Week! 🐾

1st–7th October is all about getting outside, stretching those legs and enjoying plenty of fresh air with our four-legged friends! 🐶🌳

Here at Derrings, walks are a BIG part of every stay. Our guests enjoy getting out and about at least 3 times a day, helping to keep them active, happy and stimulated while giving them plenty of opportunities to explore the great outdoors 🐕💨

And judging by the wagging tails… we think they’re pretty happy about it! 🥰

So, grab the lead and get walking this week! 🚶‍♀️🐾

📸 We’d love to see where your adventures take you — share your walking snaps with us and show us those happy pups!

🎆 Firework season is on the way… and while we might enjoy the displays, our four-legged friends often feel very differently! 🐾

If your dog struggles with loud bangs, here are a few ways to make those evenings a little easier:
🏡 Create a safe space – somewhere cosy, familiar and away from flashing lights.
🎧 Drown out the noise – pop the TV, radio or some calming music on.
🧸 Keep them occupied – favourite toys, treats or a filled Kong can provide a welcome distraction.
🌿 Consider calming aids – speak to your vet about suitable options if your pup gets particularly anxious.
💗 Keep things calm – stay relaxed, offer reassurance and try not to leave an anxious dog alone.

And remember… it’s a different story here at Derrings! 🌳🐶
Thanks to our peaceful countryside setting, we don’t hear the fireworks, making us a calm and quiet retreat for dogs who find Bonfire Night particularly stressful. 🎇

📅 We have a few spaces available over the firework season, so get in touch to secure your pup’s stay 📞 01347 824202
