I'm a newly qualified, fully insured groomer with an absolute passion for pooches! I have just completed my Level 2 plus styling training at Snoots Dog Grooming Training Centre and i'm now taking on clients working out of the Dog Haven in Huntington. I look forward to pampering your furry friends!

Hey Guys!

Just thought I’d quickly mention I’m now officially qualified in the usage of the Emmi-pet ultrasonic toothbrush and will be available to provide this service to my current client base as an add on service or separate stand alone appointment.

This will be subject to availability but please if you’re an existing customer with me and are interested in the service just ask me and I’ll see if it’s something I’d be able to offer as I’d have to check to see if:
a) your dog will let me in their mouth
and
b) if the plaque and tartar build up isn’t beyond what the Emmi pet can help with.

Hey Guys!

Man it’s been such a busy summer so far, after having some much needed time off at the end of June, I’ve been back at it keeping all you’re beloved pooches trim and cool for the summer months to come.

Thank you all to those who have been super accommodating in me moving appointments around to fit everyone in during the coolest part of the day, it’s been a lot of early starts over these past few weeks but it’s been totally worth it.

☀️🥵 EXTREME WEATHER WARNING‼️🥵☀️

Due to temperatures reaching as high as 31 degrees next week, I have tried hard to re organise my diary and come in super early to get all your pooches in before the afternoon sun hits.

Thank you to all my customers who’ve been super accommodating with this, your dogs health is my top priority and I can assure you I will make sure they will have access to plenty of clean drinking water and to cut drying time down to the bare minimum necessary.

Please if possible can you drive your dogs to their appointment / avoid long walks so they’re not dehydrated before their groom.

As much I mostly work on a 1-1 basis, I also accept two dogs at the same time as long as their from the same household (and small enough to fit on the table together 😅)

This generally speeds up the groom of two dogs as they can be bathed and dried at the same time.

These are just some of my devilishly handsome duos!

Full grooms don’t always require the clippers, sometimes dogs need specific grooming methods in order to achieve the best results for their breed.

🐾 Hand stripping is the process of removing the dead undercoat from wire coated dog breeds by hand rather than cutting it with a blade.

This preserves the coats natural texture, colour and waterproof functionality and promotes healthy skin by allowing for new hair growth to come through because you’ve unclogged the dead hair straight from the follicle.

A similar technique is also used on softer coated breeds such as the Cocker Spaniel as it also works to keep their coats lay flat and stay super glossy.

🐾 Cutting a double coated coat can cause something called coat funk and it can actually make it grow back thicker and/or patchy in some areas.

One thing to keep them cooler would be regular brushing/raking so the coat isn’t clogged so the air flow can flow through the undercoat.
This helps keep the coat and keeps the skin healthy because a build up of dead undercoat can, over time, matt together with new growth and cause serious discomfort for your pets.

🐾 De-shedding is a technique for your short haired breeds such as a Labrador or pug. It removes dead hair from their undercoat keeping them cool and their skin healthy and will significantly reduce the amount of shedding around your home!

Whether it’s hand stripping, de-shedding or dealing with a double coat, you’ll be happy to know I’ll do whatever is best for your dog’s needs. 🥰
