🎺 Calling all light-coloured pets! 🐈🐕

While fur provides some protection, areas with thin or light-coloured hair, such as the nose, ears, and belly, are especially vulnerable to UV rays ☀️. Protect your pet by limiting their time in direct sunlight, providing shaded areas, and applying pet-safe sunscreen to exposed areas that cannot be licked off. Keep sunscreen away from the eyes and mouth. ​

Remember, prevention is key to keeping your pet safe and comfortable in the sun! 🌞🐾

🐶💉 Dog Vaccinations Explained

Ruby came to our Fulford branch recently for her vaccinations, but how do they work? 🤔

Vaccines introduce a tiny, safe part of a disease, teaching your dog’s immune system how to fight it. The body remembers this through antibodies, so if your dog is exposed in the future, it can respond quickly and effectively.

Booster vaccines are important because immunity fades over time. This helps keep your dog protected long‑term. 🛡️

If your dog's vaccines have become out of date now is a really great time to get in touch as for June and July we can restart your dog's vaccine course for the same cost as a booster!

Microchipping looks scary, I bet they hate it....

Well, 3 month old Ludovico barely seemed to notice! 👏🥰 With lots of treats and distractions he got chipped nice and quickly and then had lots of well earned cuddles ❤️🐾.

The tiniest little paws tottered into our Acomb branch the other week... Tia, Pickle and Chorizo 🐾🐾🐾 came for a health check with vet Becky.

At two weeks old they're definitely the smallest babies we've seen in a little while 😍.

We often say our job isn't just about cuddling puppies and kitten... But when we get to, wow do we love our job!! ❤️
