Just like us, our pets can be affected by seasonal allergens such as pollen, mould spores and dust mites - and autumn can bring its own triggers.

If your pet seems itchier than usual or you’ve noticed a change in their skin, paws or ears, don’t just put it down to the changing seasons. There are lots of ways we can help manage allergies and keep your pet comfortable.

Not sure if allergies could be bothering your pet? Speak to us. 💙

As our pets get older, some changes can be easy to put down to “just getting old”. But changes in their health, behaviour or mobility can sometimes be signs that they need a little extra support.

We’re always here for them. Whether you’ve noticed something different or simply want some reassurance about your pet’s changing needs, our veterinary team is here to listen, check them over and help you understand what’s normal and what may need a little more attention.

Because getting older is a part of life - but your pet doesn’t have to navigate it alone. 🐾💙

Autumn walks can mean muddy paths, wet grass and plenty of things for our pets to pick up along the way.

A quick paw check after your walk can help keep them comfortable and spot any problems early. 🐶

s your cat a serial furball offender... Or have they never left you a hairy gift on your floor? 🐱🧶

Our very own CVS Feline Medicine Specialist, Dr Sam Taylor is supporting The Fur Report, a worldwide study looking at hairballs, grooming habits and feline wellbeing.

Researchers want to hear from cat owners aged 18+, whether hairballs are a regular occurrence or something they have never seen!

Take the quick survey: www.surveymonkey.com/r/The_Fur_Report

Let us know here too, has your furry friend ever coughed up a hairball?

Lovely Finley came to Strensall on Wednesday for his dental procedure. Whilst he was with us, he very kindly donated a small blood sample. This blood sample will be used to make serum drops which we use to help heal complex corneal ulcers (erosions on the surface of the eye). We keep them in the freezer so they are ready to use when needed. Some of our patients are too small to provide enough blood for the treatment or if their eye is severely affected, the stress of taking a blood sample could be too risky and cause further damage to the eye.

If you have a young, healthy, large breed dog that is coming in for a routine procedure we may ask if we can collect a small blood sample whilst they are under sedation or general anaesthetic. We will always ask for your permission before doing this.

Thank you for your donation, Finley and we hope you have a smooth recovery after your dental treatment!🐶❤️
