Just a couple of some new gorgeous clients Iβve had the privilege of cleaning their teeth over the last few months ππ¦·πΎ
I wanted to take a moment to explain what you can expect from your petβs Emmi-Pet ultrasonic dental cleaning and how it differs from a traditional veterinary dental scale and polish. β€οΈ
β¨ What is Emmi-Pet ultrasonic cleaning?
Emmi-Pet uses ultrasonic technology with a specially designed toothbrush and toothpaste to help disrupt soft plaque and bacteria as part of your petβs oral hygiene routine.
The treatment is designed to be gentle and quiet, with your petβs comfort and wellbeing always coming first. πΆπ§‘
πͺ₯ What can you expect after a session?
Depending on your petβs starting condition, you may notice:
πΎ A reduction in soft plaque and surface debris. πΎ Cleaner-looking teeth. πΎ Fresher breath in some cases. πΎ Gradual improvements in oral hygiene over time.
Please remember that every pet is different! The results will depend on your petβs oral health, the amount and type of build-up present, and how well they tolerate the treatment.
π¦· What about tartar build-up?
Tartar is hardened plaque, and it can be much more difficult to remove than soft plaque.
Depending on the amount of build-up, it may take multiple sessions to see an improvement. However, results cannot be guaranteed, and heavy or firmly attached tartar may not be removable with Emmi-Pet alone.
The aim is to work gently and gradually, without causing unnecessary stress to your pet. Your petβs comfort will always take priority over trying to achieve a particular result in one visit.
π₯ How is this different from a veterinary dental scale and polish?
A veterinary dental procedure can include scaling to remove hardened tartar, polishing the teeth, dental X-rays and treatment below the gum line when needed. This is generally carried out under general anaesthesia, allowing the vet to examine and treat the whole mouth thoroughly.
Emmi-Pet is a non-invasive approach to routine oral hygiene. It is not the same as a veterinary dental scale and polish, and it cannot replace professional veterinary dental treatment.
β οΈ When should your pet see a vet?
If your pet has heavy tartar, red or bleeding gums, loose teeth, swelling, significant bad breath, pain or difficulty eating, they should be assessed by a vet. Dental problems beneath the gum line cannot be properly assessed with an Emmi-Pet session.
π§‘My promise to you
I will always be honest about what I feel can realistically be achieved for your pet. I won't promise a complete dental transformation in one session, and your pet's welfare will always come before the end result.
Emmi-Pet can be a useful part of an ongoing oral hygiene routine for suitable pets, alongside regular home care and veterinary dental checks.
Every pet is different, so please remember that one session may be enough to make a visible difference for some pets, while others may need a more gradual approach. In some cases, veterinary dental treatment will be the most appropriate option.
Thank you for trusting me with your precious pets! πΎπ§‘
