The Dog Chef The UK's definitive resource on Homemade Dog Food At The Dog Chef I know what makes a healthy dog treat. They're so healthy, you can enjoy them with your dog!

My resident dog nutritionist oversees every dog treat recipe and every dog treat made with my recipes is both dog-safe and fit for human consumption. That's why I call my dog treats share-and-share-alike dog treats. When you make homemade dog treats for your best friend, you know exactly what's in them. There are no additives, no preservatives and no synthetic ingredients whatsoever. Every ingredient is natural and every ingredient has health benefits for your constant canine companion. There is another major difference between a homemade dog treat and a commercial dog treat. Actually, there are two:

1. Aside from the pleasure you will get from making treats for your dog, you'll find it immensely rewarding knowing you're doing your best for your canine pal. A huge sense of pride because you've 'made' something rather than taking the easy option.

2. In the animal sciences there is something known as behavioural or environmental enrichment. It's about finding ways of enriching the life of our companion animals. In this case, enriching the life your dog. Making your dog happier. When you bake homemade treats for your dog, he or she will know that something special is happening. Something special that involves them. The sights, the sounds, the smells of home baking will enrich the life of your dog so much more than simply opening a packet of shop-bought treats. Your dog will be able to share the baking journey with you from the moment you open a dog treat baking mix right through to the tasting session at the end of it. Opening a packet of commercial dog treats is a fleeting reward. Baking homemade treats for your dog is long-lasting and rewarding for both of you! All my dog treat baking mixes contain all the required dry ingredients. Some may require the addition of a staple supplemental ingredient such as an egg or a dash of olive oil. Most of my dog treat baking mixes contain limited ingredients. So they're easy to make. This makes them particularly suitable for teaching young children to bake. They're an ideal junior introduction to baking because they are simple to make, and because all the ingredients are of human grade quality, they're fit for human consumption. Not only do my dog treat baking mixes offer the ideal introduction into junior baking, they also help teach your child how to take care and provide for a companion animal. I do hope you'll give my Bake & Treat dog treat baking mixes a try. And do please tell your friends about them. Thank you and happy baking.

Enzo's breakfast, its not his real breakfast but he has to have something when we have ours, so he gets some fruit, the tops off the strawberries and a little yogurt. This is his new lick map, much nicer than the silicone one that you could never get clean. ☺️

So pleased these are flying off the shelf. I'm amazed at the take-up. Keep those orders coming 😄

Indigenous people like the Maya fed their dogs Chia Seeds for a powerful nutritional boost.

Chia seeds provide sustained energy, healthy fats and fibre that kept both the Maya and their animals strong during hard labour and long journeys.

Now you can do the same for your dog! https://www.thedogchef.co.uk/shop/wholefoods/chia-seeds-for-dogs-160g/
