❗️ Exciting News ❗️

After much thought and consideration, we will be hosting a group class weekly, which will focus on having fun with your dog and helping to build your relationship with your dog!

This class will be ideal for somebody who has a new puppy, or dog. Or somebody who’s dog might potentially struggle to keep focused around other people or dogs.

The class will be a first come first served basis, and I will only be taking 6 people per class.

Date: Wednesday 26th August (then weekly following that)

Location: the field adjacent to the Greenlea Avenue Playground, LS19 7NA

Time: 6pm - 7pm

Price: £15

Hi! I’d like to introduce myself and tell you a bit about me. My name is James, I’m 16, and I’m in Year 12 doing my A-Levels. For as long as I can remember I have loved animals, but ironically, I don’t have a dog!

In Year 9, I went on a trip to Cambridge Uni which inspired me to become a vet. However, after researching the career, I decided against it, but knew I still wanted to work with animals.

I then came across dog trainers on social media and realised it was something I might be interested in. After watching different trainers and attending training classes, that was confirmed. Then I saw a company training protection dogs, and I set my heart on becoming a protection dog trainer.

I got in touch with the lovely people at YGSD Training, who let me observe their classes. They helped build my confidence around large breed dogs, which I am very appreciate for.

My next step came when I met a neighbour with a golden retriever puppy, Maisie. Ish*ta Mehta and Josh Dobbins kindly let me walk her, something I'm incredibly grateful for, as I know people can be sceptical of a 14-year-old knocking on their door! Maisie has taught me so much and is a massive part of the trainer I am today.

About 8 months ago, I met Kerry, The Fairydogmother Yorkshire Ltd. Out of the kindness of her heart, Kerry let me shadow her, teaching me heaps about dog behaviour, training, and psychology.

With the knowledge I have, I am confident that I’m ready to begin my career. So here I am: Canine Harmony UK. I am a force-free dog trainer, and that will never change. I truly believe there is no need to inflict pain, fear, or intimidation to train a dog.

Starting out, I will offer dog walking and training sessions, with potential for group classes if there is enough interest. I will upload prices to my social media pages, so please take a look and check out the work Maisie and I have accomplished together.
