👩‍⚕️Meet the Team: Jordan Lane
We’re pleased to highlight Jordan, one of our dedicated Equine Veterinary Nurses who has been
getting stuck in with the team at this busy time of year and providing high standards of care on
yard.
Jordan has been part of the Oaklands team since 2020 and qualified as a Registered Veterinary
Nurse (RVN) in 2024. She is also a qualified Artificial Insemination Technician.
Jordan has a particular interest in radiology, assisting with lameness workups, and
reproduction work, and plays a key role in supporting both our vets and clients.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, her three horses, and her Labrador
Benji.

🐴Equine Veterinary Nurse Visits at Oaklands
Did you know our Equine Veterinary Nurses (EVNs) can come directly to your yard to provide a
wide range of treatments?
These visits are a convenient way to support your horse’s care, all in a familiar environment.
✨ What can our EVNs do?
Under veterinary direction, our highly trained nurses can provide:
• Wound care and bandaging
• Administration of medications and injections
• Shockwave therapy
• Stitch removal and post-operative care
• Administration of shockwave treatments
• IV catheter placement and management
• Assistance with radiography and lameness workups
• Routine health checks and monitoring
• Reproductive and AI support
• Practical advice on horse care and management

Receptionist - Part Time/Full Time position available

We are looking for a friendly, efficient, enthusiastic, receptionist to join our team. Applicants must have previous experience in a busy reception environment, managing telephone phone calls, together with admin duties. The successful candidate must have good organisational skills, IT proficiency, cashing up experience and the ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
Equine knowledge and a passion for pets is preferable, excellent communication skills and a positive ‘can do’ attitude, essential. Rota and hours to be discussed and confirmed.

❗️Would you like to be involved in our current gastric ulcer treatment research? ❗️

We are looking for horses to take part in a research study investigating treatment options and risk factors associated with gastric ulcers.

By taking part, you will receive a a free lameness assessment (usually £75) in addition to our current offer of £100 off the usual price of the gastroscopy examination.

This presents a great opportunity to give your horse a spring MOT before the upcoming season while also contributing to valuable research. Please call our office for further details.

Please note any treatment for lameness or gastric ulcers and the sedation used for the gastroscopy is not included.

GASTROSCOPY OFFER

We are offering £100 off gastroscopic examination UNTIL THE END OF APRIL when you quote 100DISCOUNT on booking your appointment.

Some of the signs of equine gastric ulceration syndrome include:
- resentment of girthing
- changes in temperament
- weight loss
- poor performance
- bucking or rearing under saddle
- colic signs (particularly after eating)

Gastroscopy is the only definitive way to diagnose gastric ulcers and formulate an appropriate treatment plan.

Please note that the offer only applies to gastroscopes taking place at the clinic, and ideally horses would stay with us for preparation the evening prior to the appointment (livery fees will be charged separately).

Back by popular demand….

CASTRATION OFFER

We are offering discounted standing castration clinics performed at our hospital base every TUESDAY throughout March and April 2026 for £210.

This price includes all routine drugs used during the procedure.

Please note any post operative care or medication will be charged additionally. These clinics are open to all colts (except miniatures) aged 6months to 3 years, with fully descended testicles. It is preferable that all colts are vaccinated for tetanus prior to castration.
