Well that couldn’t have gone any better if we had tried!

Today is weaning day for Badger. He had a shot of Coligone this morning to help protect his tummy if he got stressed and a distraction of hay and feed with his pals whilst Sugar was loaded onto the lorry off on her holidays. One whinny and that was it, what a chilled little guy 😎

Welcoming Ettie and Delly owned by Hanstead Equestrian to the mare and foal herd. Delly is a stunning filly by Diarado who needs no introduction 😍 Delly will stay with us over winter on youngstock livery once she’s weaned, alongside Badger and Swallow.

They have settled in very well and enjoying the recent grass growth thanks to the rain!

The recent rain and good grass cover has made the ground feel great in our grass jumping paddock. She’s not quite jumping yet but feeling great on the flat. Coming back into work as though she’s never had a day off!

Cuddles with Sugar ❤️

We are so excited for her 2027 foal by Murkha’s Gem. Did you know he is an an identical genetic clone of the legendary Olympic show jumper Gem Twist?

Gem Twist is the only horse to have won the “American Grand Prix Association Horse of the Year” three times. He also achieved 2 Olympic silver medals in 1988. Given he was a gelding, it’s incredible that we are able to access genetics that would otherwise be lost ✨ 🧬

A lovely midweek trip to Stainsby Grange for the BS today with Manfriday to jump the newcomers.

The aim wasn’t to worry about the height, but to get a good, confident round on a great surface and finish the day feeling positive.

Really pleased with how it went — forward, happy, confident and ears pricked the whole way round, which was exactly what we were after.

A good day and plenty to build on. 👌🏼
