On Friday evening we held a man trailing practice session working on decoys and walking finds. These skills put the dogs scent indications to the test in various scenarios and also their ability to ignore other people on their trail. All partnerships did really well and big thank you to Alex from Mantrailing Lancashire for coming down to do some coaching!

🐾 WANT TO GIVE MANTRAILING A TRY? 🐾

I am opening some rare spots on my Mantrailing groups for people who’d like to give this fabulous sport a go! Suitable for all ages and abilities and a firm favourite activity with a lot of Dogwarts students, including me!!

Mantrailing originates from search and rescue techniques and teaches dogs to follow the unique scent of a person to find them - basically hide and seek for dogs! This sport is perfect for all ages, breeds and temperaments as it is an on-lead exercise that gives the dogs an opportunity to take the lead and choose what to do in a safe environment.

A dog's nose dominates their brain, so mantrailling provides mental stimulation for your dog, tiring them out by working their brain rather than their body. This sport is great for anxious or reactive dogs as they learn how to problem solve and make decisions independently, which boosts their confidence.

I run Introduction to mantrailing sessions which get you and your dog started on your trailing journey, these sessions are £45 and once completed, you can book onto our practice sessions. Practice sessions are held regularly and you can book on as frequently or little as you like. I also work with Mantrailing Lancashire who run assessment sessions so you can achieve Mantrailing titles with your dog! All sessions are held in the Stockport area, please get in touch if you are interested in trying this fabulous sport with your dog!
