Did you know that a properly fitted muzzle can actually give your dog MORE freedom in new environments? ?
Muzzles get a bad rap, but when trained with love and consistency, dogs see them as just another piece of gear—like a harness or leash!
We broke down everything you need to know about choosing the right fit and building positive associations, step-by-step.
Check out the slides above, and drop a ? in the comments if you're taking on muzzle training this week!

Are you tired of yelling "COME!" only to be completely ignored? ? Let's fix that!
Getting a reliable recall (coming when called) is one of the most important safety skills your dog can learn. But too often, we accidentally train our dogs not to come to us.
If you want a dog that sprints back to you every single time, you need to set them up for success. Here is the anatomy of a perfect recall:

YOU: The Welcoming Party
Use an Excited, Happy Voice ? – Never call your dog in an angry or flat tone. High-pitched, enthusiastic voices are naturally appealing and make them want to investigate!
Open, Welcoming Body Posture ? – Crouch or bend slightly, open your arms, or even take a few steps backward. Looming over them can be intimidating, while moving backward triggers their instinct to chase you.
Jackpot Rewards Ready ? – Always carry high-value treats (like chicken, cheese, or hot dogs) or a favorite toy in your pouch. Coming to you must be the best transaction of their day!

YOUR DOG: Safety & Practice
The Speedy Return – Running back to you should always result in a jackpot celebration (praise, play, and treats).
Use a Long Line Trailing ? – For safety and training, use a 15–30ft long line. It gives them the freedom to explore while ensuring you can prevent them from ignoring you or running off.
?The Absolute DO NOTS:
Don't call them just to end the fun ? (like only calling them to leash up and leave the park). If "Come" always means "The fun is over," they’ll stop coming. Call them, reward them, and let them go play again!
Never scold them when they finally arrive ? (even if it took them 10 minutes!). If they get in trouble when they get to you, they learn that coming back is dangerous. Always reward the final decision to return.
Don't chase them It just becomes a game of "keep away"!
Recall isn't a command; it's a partnership built on trust and highly rewarding outcomes. Make coming to you the best party in the park! ?

Ever feel like your dog is "deaf" the second you step outside? ? Here is why:

Think of training your dog like going to work.
If your boss asked you to do a simple task at your desk, you’d probably do it for a normal, low-stress incentive. But if they asked you to do that same task while walking a tightrope over a crowd... you’d expect a massive bonus, right? ?
Your dog’s brain works the exact same way.
When you're at home in your quiet living room, there is almost no distraction. Your dog is happy to sit, stay, or pay attention for their everyday kibble (Level 1). There is nothing else competing for their attention!
But the moment you step out the front door, the environment becomes a chaotic, exciting, "high-stress" place. There are squirrels, moving cars, other dogs, and smells everywhere.
If you try to use Level 1 kibble or Level 2 carrots in a Level 5 outdoor environment, your dog will choose the environment every single time. The "pay" just doesn't match the level of difficulty!
To get your dog's focus outdoors, you need to match the challenge with high-value, smelly, high-reward treats (Level 4 & 5) like tiny pieces of cheese, hot dogs, or freeze-dried liver.
Here is your game plan: ? In the living room: Use kibble or everyday biscuits. ? In the back garden: Step it up to store-bought training treats. ? At the park/on walks: Bring out the boiled chicken or liver!
Stop calling your dog stubborn—they’re just looking for the right motivation! ?
? We want to know: What is your dog’s ultimate Level 5 reward? The one thing they will do anything for? Drop it in the comments below! ?

Is your dog REALLY happy… or are they asking for space?

Dogs talk to us all the time, but because their signals can be so subtle, it’s easy to misread what they’re trying to say!
SWIPE through the guide to learn how to spot the difference between true relaxation and hidden stress:
Remember: Context is everything! A wagging tail or an open mouth doesn't always mean a happy pup. Learning these subtle cues is the best way to advocate for your dog and build a stronger, safer bond. ❤️

Don't be that person. We all see them. We didnt even know they own a dog until its too hot to walk them.

Dogs sweltering to heat exhaustion.

My dogs have been walked at 5am. Now tucked up in the cool shaded kennels until later this evening.

Keep them hydrated and out of the sun.
