Happy Dog Sitting Services Fully insured, registered Dog Sitter (Licence No. 588491) I am fully insured and registered with Wrexham County Borough Council (Licence No: 565099).

I have had dogs all my life and my family have relied on me to look after their precious family members also. I have owned various breeds from Jack Russsell, German Shepherd, Golden Retrievers, Cocker Spaniels, Labradors. My current dog is a Greek Harehound, who we adopted from Greece in May 2021. Other than dropping my son off and collecting him from school, I am at home full time, therefore I ha

ve plenty of time to care, exercise and really get to know your pet. There is a fenced area (secured access straight from my back door) within the garden in which your pet can safely play outside with our dog Ivan. There will be lots of country walks on very quiet lanes and in the large open fields close to my home, where your pet will have the opportunity to explore. I do insist upon a "meet and greet" prior to accepting any bookings. This will give you the opportunity to visit my home and introduce your pet to my dog, Ivan. We can discuss all your pets needs, but more importantly we can be sure as to whether or not we are both a good fit for each other.

🐾DO YOU KNOW YOUR PAWS? 🐾

The dog paw has five basic parts:
• The Claws
• The Digital Pads
• The Metacarpal Pad (on the front paws) and Metatarsal Pad (on the rear paws)
• The Dew Claw
• The Carpal Pad

The metacarpal, metatarsal, and digital pads function as the load-bearing, shock-absorbing pads to protect the joints and bones in your dog’s paws. They’re covered in thick skin that also helps with skid and traction on a slope or while stopping.

The claws provide traction and help a dog dig. The purpose of the dew claw remains a mystery, though it is believed to have been more useful historically in certain dog breeds for extra grip or for keeping something they are chewing in place.

Not all dogs have dew claws. For most, they will be on the front legs. Less commonly, some dogs will have them on the rear legs.

👉🏻SIGNS YOUR DOG MAY HAVE AN ALLERGY👈🏻

There are many signs that could indicate your dog has an allergy – from mild to severe. These are some of the most common:

• itchy, sore or broken skin (your dog may scratch or lick themselves more than usual)
• their ears may look red, sore or have black or yellow discharge (your dog may keep scratching them)
• fur loss in patches over their body
• red or sore skin between their toes (they may keep licking or biting their feet)
• swollen skin, especially around the muzzle and/or eyes
• hives (a raised rash)
• breathing difficulties (more commonly seen with severe allergic reactions or anaphylaxis which can be life threatening and requires immediate veterinary attention
• vomiting and/or diarrhoea (more commonly seen with severe allergic reactions or anaphylaxis which can be life threatening, and requires immediate veterinary attention)
• weight loss
• collapse

The above signs may not be associated with an allergy, and instead might be related to a different disease process. It’s always important to seek veterinary attention if your dog is showing any signs of being unwell
