I am a 5 star licenced doggy day care and boarder, based in Worthing. I am dbs checked, insured and first aid trained. I have a 4 year old female pomapoo and a cat who lives upstairs. My licence was issued in January 2024 for doggy care and I left paid employment in March 2024. I obtained a 5 star rating in January 2025. ches have use of our kitchen/diner with use of the lounge when we are in there, allowing them to settle on the sofa and watch tv with us, whilst having a cuddle. We have various beds, enrichment toys and play toys and also lots of treats!!! All walks are on lead, either locally or sometimes further afield (maybe the promenade) and I sometimes hire a private field for my pooches to use. I try to do 2 walks per day, weather permitting. I also offer group walks. I have a large family, with 4 older boys, and my husband and we all provide love and hugs to pooches who visit us. I take intact dogs up to a Year old, but only one at a time. All pooches must be fully vaccinated, including kennel cough and up to date with flea and worming treatments. Helpful tips when looking for lodgings for your dog:

Make sure the business displays their licensed number on their social media pages/website ✅

It is required that the business also displays their certificate on their premises ✅

Overnight trial session ✅

Ask for references ✅

All licensed dog boarders are listed on your local authority’s website ✅

If anything happens to your dog in their care IF they don’t have a license then no insurance will pay out.

For any insurance company to sell boarding-day care insurance they need a license number.

It is with great sadness that I share this information. This death could have been avoided. One family no longer has their beloved dog due to using an unlicenced home boarder.

This weekend a heartbreaking incident saw a dog lose its life from heat stroke whilst in the care of an unlicensed home boarder. 💔

The boarder lied and said they were licensed 🤬🤬🤬

It’s a devastating reminder of why choosing a LICENSED home boarding service matters so much.

Licensed boarders are required to:
✔️ Have inspections carried out
✔️ Complete risk assessments
✔️ Meet animal welfare standards
✔️ Hold appropriate insurance
✔️ Follow safety procedures for weather, exercise, transport and emergencies

Sadly, when people operate without a licence, these checks often aren’t in place — leaving dogs at risk and owners with little protection if the worst happens.

Please, before leaving your beloved pets with anyone:
🐾 Ask to see their licence
🐾 Check insurance cover
🐾 Read reviews
🐾 Visit the premises first
🐾 Don’t be afraid to ask questions

I’d like to wish you all a lovely bank holiday weekend and I hope you get to enjoy the lovely weather. I won’t be posting for a few days due to my cat being terminally ill and spending a few days with her before she goes to cat heaven. X
