Today is 🐈🐈‍⬛❤️‍🩹

Who are feral cats?

Feral cats are domestic cats that live wild and have had little or no human contact, meaning interaction with people can be very stressful for them.

❤️ How can we help?

✂️ Neutering helps prevent unwanted litters and control feral cat populations
🏡 Providing suitable outdoor shelter can help protect them, especially during colder months
🩺 Sick or injured feral cats may need veterinary care
🐾 Trap, Neuter and Return (TNR) programmes help improve welfare and manage colonies humanely

💚 Remember, feral cats deserve care and protection, too. Sometimes, the kindest thing we can do is respect their space while ensuring they have the support they need.

🍗Pet Obesity Awareness Day🧀

Today is about being mindful of and monitoring the weight of our pets in order to prevent health issues and prolong their lifespan.

How much should my cat weigh?
Your cat’s ideal weight will depend on their individual circumstances, age, gender and breed. Your vet will be able to tell you what your cat’s ideal weight is, but as a general guide:
• kittens will vary depending on age and breed. They’ll gain weight every month until they are fully grown
• adult and senior cats can weigh between 3.6 to 4.5kg (depending on size and breed)
There’s no ‘one size fits all’ approach to what cats should weigh. The only way to know exactly how much your individual cat should weigh is by speaking to your vet.

🌍World Mental Health Day🧠

Did you know that according to a survey held by Cats Protection, over nine out of ten cat owners (93.7%) state that owning a cat helps their mental health?

The survey also uncovered some slightly more light-hearted findings, including:

🥳 More than half of owners celebrate their cat’s birthday!

🤫 Around half of owners have shared a secret with their cat, such as telling them who they fancied.

👋 Four in five make a special effort to say goodbye to their cat when they leave the house.
