It may seem obvious, but during this hot weather, please make sure that you get out first thing for your morning walk and leave your second walk as late as possible when it cools down. Dogs can burn their pads on hot pavements/tarmac. Also very important to make sure that all of your pets have access to plenty of cold water that is constantly replenished.

I am Mel from Mels Pop-Ins. I will treat your pets like they were my own, give them lots of cuddles and strokes and send you photographs whilst you are away. The area I cover is Workington and surrounding villages.

Every now and then an important occasion pops up meaning we might have to go away and leave our furry friends at home. Its tough because we dont want to miss out on a special event, but what do we do about our pets? Although I didn't set out to do overnight stays, with plenty of notice it is something that I could arrange. Please message me if you would like further details.

Happy May Day everyone! What is going on with this weather? Cosmo and I have had a trip out to St Bees, a stop at the Beach cafe for a doggy sausage and a bacon sandwitch and then on to Parton Beach for treasure hunting! (Sea Glass & pottery). All in all a very productive morning!

This young man is on holiday with Grandma at the moment. Im trying to keep his routine up as much as possible. Our pets are creatures of habit, and feel more safe and secure if life carries on as normal, even if Mum and Dad are away. Shame about the weather today...... Photo was from yesterday at St Bees when Cosmo tried out the doggie ice cream. Do your pets have any routines or habits that are quirky ?
