🐾🍂 PARVOVIRUS AWARENESS – WORCESTER & SURROUNDING AREAS 🍂🐾

We wanted to share a little reminder with all our lovely clients following reports of parvovirus cases in the surrounding Worcester area.

Parvovirus is highly contagious and can be particularly serious for puppies and unvaccinated dogs. It can be spread through contaminated faeces, soil and surfaces, and can even be carried on footwear, clothing and equipment.

💚 At Paws in the Country Worcester, your dogs’ safety is always our priority. We are taking extra precautions during our walkies, including:

🐾 Avoiding areas where we have concerns about potential contamination

🧼 Maintaining thorough hygiene between walks

👟 Being mindful of footwear, clothing and equipment

🐶 Limiting unnecessary contact with unknown or unvaccinated dogs

💉 Encouraging everyone to keep vaccinations and boosters up to date

👀 Keeping a close eye on the dogs in our care for any signs of illness

If your dog shows symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, lethargy or dehydration, please contact your vet promptly.

We know hearing about outbreaks can be worrying, but there's no need to panic. With sensible precautions, good hygiene and responsible dog ownership, we can all help reduce the risk.

We’ll continue to monitor the situation locally and adapt our precautions where necessary. ❤️

Stay safe, stay vigilant and keep those tails wagging! 🐕🍂
