As of 3rd August 2026, we have seen 0 suspect cases of Bluetongue in our area, and we have submitted 0 samples for testing.

But we know that other areas of the country are seeing many positive cases - see www.gov.uk/guidance/bluetongue-latest-situation for info.

We are taking orders for vaccines - please phone the office to place your order. There is a significant delivery delay at the wholesalers so we cannot accurately guarantee delivery dates (sorry)

When you collect your vaccine order from the office:
✅bring a cool bag for transporting it
✅collect the paperwork regarding how to use it
✅sign the paperwork to confirm number of doses
✅pay for the vaccine at point of collection please

When you’ve finished vaccinating:
✅record tags and doses as per instructions
✅bring bottles and needles back to the surgery for free disposal
✅sign more paperwork

🚨🚨🚨if you suspect Bluetongue on your farm, firstly phone APHA on 03000 200 301 and request a test authorisation number. We can visit and sample three animals per holding once per national outbreak - lab fees paid for by APHA. Further sampling will be charged as usual.

We appreciate that this is a terribly concerning time for all farmers with the drought and now disease outbreaks. There are many options for support available with FCN RABI - the Farmers Charity YANA

We’ve diagnosed several flocks with Haemonchus infestations recently. This blood sucking intestinal worm causes anaemia, ill thrift and death ☠️

If you suspect your sheep are at risk, chat to one of the vets at the office for advice about diagnosing and treatments.
