Tomorrow is International Dog Day!🐾🐶

Rosie would like to wish all her friends a Happy International Dog Day! Rosie is a 7 month old Shih Tzu pup who is the sweetest little girl. She is super chill, having a little snooze in the consult room💤

Tomorrow we are celebrating Rosie along with all the other wonderful dogs in the world. From little terriers to gentle giants, all dogs are special in their own way❤️

Please share any photos of your dogs in the comments! We'd love to see our wonderful Brentknoll family pups! 🐾

Ronnie💙

Over the last few weeks, Ronnie has been into the practice for investigations after his owner reported him being lame on his front paw along with spotting a sore area. With the increase of grass seed cases, it was thought that maybe Ronnie had a foreign body stuck in his paw. He was admitted for further investigations to find out the cause of his discomfort.

After investigations ruled out a grass seed, Ronnie was sent home with antibiotics and a buster collar to stop him from hindering the healing process of his wound. We are happy to say that Ronnie is doing much better and is back to his cheeky self.

Ronnie is such a bundle of joy and is the happiest little boy who loves rolling over for everybody he comes across for belly rubs and fuss (members of the team and also clients!). We are glad that he is feeling better💙

Hamish💙

Meet Hamish, the cutest little Shih Tzu who comes into practice regularly for hydrotherapy.
Hamish has been diagnosed with a patellar luxation. This is when his kneecap pops out of position and causes him a skipping lameness.
To help his condition, he has regular hydrotherapy sessions with Laura and Jo to work on his comfort and strength, as well as check-ups with our imaging vet.
Hamish absolutely loves being in the tank and also loves the massage he gets (as well as all the treats!). He is the loveliest little chap💙

Remember the two sweet kittens called Beanz and Toastie?
Well here they are now!🐈🐾

Beanz and Toastie recently came in for their neutering procedures. Both of them were very good for their surgery and they are back to their usual selves already.

If you are looking to neuter your pet, please contact the practice where a member of our team can assist you with any queries you may have🩺

Star of the month July🌟

Please join us in congratulating Winston for his nomination and award of star of the month July!

Winston has been through a lot in the past few months. After being diagnosed with osteoarthritis and elbow dysplasia, Winston is having ongoing hydrotherapy and laser therapies, as well as a recent CT scan with our imaging team and arthritis injections into his elbow joints.
Despite all his recent visits, he still comes into practice every time with a wagging tail. All of the members of the team give him all the love he deserves.

Winston is such a trooper, and with the help of the clinical team, and plenty of fuss from the client care team, we love to see his continued treatment working well for him.

Images below show Winston having his laser therapy treatment with Jo.🐾

We understand that a recent news article has been released about a local pet crematorium and their concerning conditions which has caused stress and questions amongst the public.

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure all of our clients that we have no relation to this company. We use CPC, a company based in Tewkesbury who we know, provide the best care for our beloved pets. A couple members of our team have also had the opportunity to spend the day there to see how they operate, and we can safely reassure you all that they are a lovely team who show nothing but respect and compassion.

We are more than happy to answer any questions on this matter and we hope this clarfies and brings our clients confidence and reassurance during this understandably stressful time.

Star of the month June☀️

This months star is awarded to Loki❤️

Loki has been a regular visitor over the last month as a referral case. At the end of may, Loki came in to practice for a CT scan as he had been having problems with reoccurring lameness. The CT scan showed that he had a fracture in his elbow which was causing him pain and discomfort. He has since had Orthopaedic surgery with our Surgeon Carly to place a screw into his elbow to help support the fracture.

Loki has been doing really well since the surgery, has been playing with toys and is still the happiest boy with bundles of energy. Although he is still recovering, we hope that he makes a full recovery in the near future.

Loki's case is very interesting, so there will soon be a post which details his surgery and tells his story in more detail.

Roxy🐰

We would like everybody to meet Roxy, a 4 year old Lionhead rabbit who came into surgery to have a rabbit dental. It was discovered that Roxy had misaligned or incorrectly positioned teeth and jaw which meant that when the mouth was closed, it was causing her discomfort and difficulty eating. During the procedure, the vet burred Roxy's insicer teeth and corrected her bite, making her more comfortable in the future.

The pictures below show our chiropractor Laura helping and assessing little Roxy by having a look at her jaw and performing some treatment to help relax the tissue around jaw joints.

Roxy has since been in for her general health check and vaccinations where she was given the all clear! We are all pleased to hear that she is doing really well🐰
