Notice of Time Off

As of 14th August, I’ll be taking some time off to welcome a new addition to my family. 👣

Working from home gives me a lot of flexibility with my working days and hours, so I hope to begin offering appointments again as soon as I feel physically ready.

I don’t have a set return date just yet, and I hope you can understand. That’s also why I’m keeping the details to a minimum for now!

Thank you so much to everyone who has rescheduled appointments and come at the crack of dawn to avoid the heat this week. Next week is looking warm again too so we’ll play it by ear how we go - I do have availability but only EARLY morning.

Not only is it so important to keep the dogs safe in these high temperatures I also have to think of my own safety and the little (not so 🙈) bump I’m growing. Everybody’s safety must come first 🙌🏻

⚠️ 🌽 A Warning to All Dog Owners: Corn on the Cob Can Kill ⚠️ 🌽

I wanted to share something very personal in the hope that it might prevent another family from going through the same ordeal we did.

Recently, Rosie became seriously unwell. What started as vomiting and not being quite herself quickly turned into an emergency. After rushing her to the vets, it was discovered that she had swallowed part of a corn on the cob, which had become lodged in her intestines.

Once she was stable she required emergency surgery, the whole time we were frighteningly close to losing her because of how unwell she had got so quickly. 💔

Many people don’t realise that corn cobs are extremely dangerous for dogs. Unlike the sweetcorn itself, the cob cannot be digested and can easily cause a life-threatening blockage in the stomach or intestines.

Please be extra careful:
🐾 Never leave corn cobs within reach.
🐾 Secure food waste and BBQ leftovers.
🐾 Remind family members and guests not to give dogs corn cobs as treats.
🐾 Seek veterinary advice immediately if your dog shows signs of vomiting, lethargy, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, or straining to poo after eating something they shouldn’t.

We’re incredibly grateful that our Rosie pulled through, but it was a terrifying heartbreaking experience that we wouldn’t wish on anyone.

With the hot weather upon us I know many will be having bbqs so please be careful!
