Womersley Timber is a leading supplier of quality timber products, serving the needs of both trade and retail customers. We are currently looking for a Delivery Driver and Yard Person to join our dynamic team on a part-time basis (3 days a week), with the possibility of overtime during busy periods.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivery Driver:
Safely and efficiently deliver timber products to customers on time.
Ensure deliveries are accurate, complete, and in good condition.
Provide excellent customer service, representing Womersley Timber with professionalism.
Maintain delivery vehicle, ensuring it is in good working order and clean.
Plan efficient delivery routes and manage time effectively.
Yard Person:
Assist with the loading and unloading of timber and other materials.
Organize and maintain stock in the yard, ensuring it is stored safely and securely.
Support the team in ensuring yard areas are clean, tidy, and well-organized.
Assist with customer pickups, offering advice and product information where required.
Assist with stock management and inventory control.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Valid driving license (with experience towing trailers).
Experience in driving and towing trailers is essential.
Good geographical knowledge of the local area.
Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor.
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
Ability to work in all weather conditions and perform manual labor.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Forklift experience or willingness to learn is a plus.
A positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
