🐾 Meet lovely Luna 🐾

Luna came to see us at the beginning of May after mammary masses were found on both sides. She was also still intact (not spayed).

At our Wolverhampton Hospital, Vas performed a mastectomy to remove the masses on one side. Thankfully, histology showed that the masses were benign adenomas. However, surgical removal was recommended as mammary masses can potentially change and become cancerous over time.

Once Luna had fully recovered, she returned to our Wolverhampton Hospital for surgery on the other side, as well as her spay. Vas performed both procedures, and thankfully everything went very well, with no complications during her postoperative recovery. ❤️

Luna is a lovely example of why we talk to owners about the importance of spaying female dogs at an appropriate age. Spaying early in life can significantly reduce the risk of developing mammary tumours later on, as well as providing a number of other health benefits.

We are delighted to see Luna doing so well after her treatment. 🐶💕
