Is your dog in their ideal shape? 🐶

A quick body-condition check can help you keep an eye on things. In an ideal shape, your dog’s ribs should be easy to feel, there should be a visible waist from above, and their tummy should tuck up behind the rib cage when viewed from the side.

If the ribs are difficult to feel and the waist is starting to disappear, your dog may be carrying extra weight. If the ribs, spine and hips are very prominent, they may be underweight.

Have a look at the guide in the image—and if you’re unsure about your dog’s body condition, your vet can help. 🐾

1st delivery of the day Birmingham Raw !! We ordered extra this week as we were wiped out at the weekend ! We love Birmingham Raw being single protein for all those who are conscious of the proteins they need to feed.

We’ve had so many questions about Stobart having chicken in but as won’t stock it we can only see what everyone else is seeing online. I think customers will make their own informed decisions and question why retailers are still stocking it after the lies. Dread to think how many dogs with chicken allergies have been suffering !! Understand shops & customers were lied to but if any brands did this, as a raw shop, we would have no choice but to remove it from freezers as our trust in them would now be gone & out customers and their dogs always come first.

🎆🐶 Following on from our previous Bonfire Night post….is your dog is frightened of fireworks, NOW is the time to start preparing.

Bonfire Night might still feel a little way off, but waiting until the fireworks start isn’t ideal for a dog who already struggles with them.

Start getting their routine ready now. 💚

🏠 Create their safe, cosy space
🌙 Start moving evening walks earlier
🔊 Get them comfortable with background noise
🪪 Double-check their microchip/ID details are current
🚪 Check gates, fences and doors are secure
💚 If you’re considering calming support, introduce it in plenty of time

And remember — never force a frightened dog out of their hiding place. Let them choose where they feel safest.
